Shu... - Chapter 20

*One Week Later*

I ran my fingers through his soft blond locks. Wavy like the ocean and softer than a feather.

"You sure like playing with my hair," Shu said as he laid on my chest.

The smile on my face had not faltered. "No, I love playing with your hair. Plus," I said, bringing my hand down to caress his cheekbone, "I love being with you, being around you or even seeing you makes me smile," I said, feeling my heart warm at the thought of being so in love with him—with my Shu.

His grip around my waist tightened slightly and he tilted his head to face me.

My eyes dragged down from his eyes to his soft lips. I placed a soft kiss at his lips and he kissed back without hesitation. I pulled away and looked at his closed eyelids.

"Can you open them up for me?" I whispered. He opened his eyes and I felt myself fall in love all over again.

"You're so beautiful," he said in a low voice. "Don't ever leave me," he said and I felt my heart drop at his words. I shook my head at his words, feeling my eyes sting.

"I will never. I love you and you alone," I said, cupping his cheeks. His eyes softened and my heart melted. "I wish there was a way to show you how much I love you." I whispered.

"I have a few ideas." He smirked.

I blushed at his words and turned my head away. I felt his hand on my cheek and he moved the hair from my neck. I felt his fangs graze my skin and a pain shot through me. It slowly became pleasure and my eyes started to feel heavy.
 
"Shu.." I said, letting him know that I was beginning to get lightheaded.

He pulled away and licked away the excess blood. "Are you okay?" he asked.

I nodded and looked at him with a yawn.

"Let's sleep," he whispered, bringing me onto his chest.

I faintly heard a knock at the entrance but I was too sleepy to open my eyes. I snuggled more into Shu and relaxed in his embrace. I opened my eyes slightly and saw us in the living room.

"Follow me," I heard Reiji say from the other room as footsteps got louder.

"They're always together now," I heard Ayato say with slight irritation.
   
"Let them be, Ayato," Laito added.

"Hello, my sons."

My eyes snapped open at that voice and I felt Shu tense slightly under me. I looked to where the voice was coming from and saw none other than the man who sent me here.
     
"Well hello, father," Laito greeted plainly, his once always playful look completely gone.

Shu's grip on me tightened and I looked up at him, he had his brows furrowed and I leaned up and placed a small kiss on his lips to loosen the tension. He relaxed and looked at me.

"Sapphire."

I heard my name get called. I tried my best to get up but Shu only sat up with me, wrapped up in his arms. I looked at Karlheinz and gulped, my heart pounding at a thousand miles per hour. I had a weird feeling as to what was coming next.
  
"Karlheinz." I nodded at him.
 
"I see you and Shu are together as well as Ayato and Yui." He nodded, looking at me and then Ayato and Yui. His eyes hadn't changed, golden with his long white hair.
   
"Yui," Karl said, looking at Yui and then looking at me, "Sapphire, I'll need you to come with me," he stated.
 
"No, I don't think so," Shu said holding me closer.
   
"No way I'm letting you take, Pancake!" Ayato stated, keeping Yui close to him by the wrist.

Karl smirked and looked at Shu. "I wasn't asking," he said and I felt myself get pulled away from Shu but I wasn't being touched.

My back hit a chest and I saw Shu stand in a defensive stance at the other side of the room.
   
"Sapphire is the one I truly need," Karlheinz said before I saw Shu's eyes go wide and he started running towards me.
   
"Shu!" I yelled out as I reached my hand out while beginning to run towards him but everything turned black. I blinked and I looked around to be in a different house. "No..." I said in disbelief and panic. I turned to Karlheinz furiously. "Why!?"
 
"I'm gonna need you." He smirked and my eyes went wide. "Don't do anything stupid," he warned before shutting the door to the room we were in.
  
I looked around the room, the walls were pure white along with the bedding. It all looked dull and I felt my mood drop even more if possible. I wanted to return back to the manor, to Shu...

Beatrix. Why was I here? What is he gonna do to me?
  
The door slammed open and Karl started walking towards me and my heartbeat quickened. I took steps back as he got closer. The door shut behind him and the room was left dimly lit.
 
"Why are you doing this?" I asked trying to stay calm.

"Beatrix may have kept you alive, but I'll make sure she regrets that."
  
"Didn't you love her? She was your wife, right?" I asked.
 
"Hmph... of course. But that has nothing to do with you," he said stoically.
   
"What? Are you planning on killing me?" I smirked on the outside as my mind was looking feverishly for a way out.
   
"No, I'm planning much worse things." He smirked and my eyes went wide.
