"Aw, Little Slut looks so cute when she's sleeping," I heard a faint voice say. Hearing the nickname, I already knew who it was, and I allowed my eyes to open slowly.

I expected to see the auburn hair and green eyes from Laito, but my eyes met purple ones instead.

"She's awake," Kanato said, holding his teddy bear tighter against his chest.

I sat up and looked around at the brightly lit room.

"Ah, Little Slut you're awake. Good, I was thirsty," Laito said from my right and I saw his arms circle around my waist.

"I would like some too, please?" Kanato said, holding his teddy bear closer as his eyes became almost an innocent plead, but they somehow revealed something completely different.

"Why must you wear pants while sleeping? It makes it very difficult to drink your blood when you're all covered up," Laito said while starting to move his hand down my stomach.

My body immediately rejected the touch and I quickly put my hand over his to stop his perverted action. "Drink from my wrists," I said, bringing my wrist up to his mouth. I knew better than to resist the Sakamaki when it came to blood, they would always win.

He stared at my wrist for a moment before taking my arm and biting down at my forearm.

I looked at Kanato and offered my other wrist hesitantly, knowing he'd take it whether I'd like it or not.

Kanato took it and bit down harshly.

I started to feel dizzy and lightheaded but they didn't show signs of stopping anytime soon. "Laito, Kanato, I'm feeling dizzy," I informed them.

They didn't stop, and I laid back down and closed my eyes tighter than normal.

"Do you still want to offer us blood, Little Slut?" Laito asked, biting down again, his voice laced with amusement.

I stayed still until they felt satisfied. Black dots took over my vision and I felt myself slip away unwillingly.

I've woken up at least 5 times.

I opened my eyes and looked around, the room was pitch black and I had a small headache, perhaps from slipping in and out of sleep so often. I groaned and got out of bed, walking to the bathroom and slid down the back of the door. I closed the door in the process, and I felt tired and exhausted, weak, lost, and alone.

My thoughts went back to simpler times when my mom and I would cook together. I smiled weakly, remembering how her favorite things to cook were foods like takoyaki, sweets like cakes and macaroons, but one of our real favorites was our homemade ice cream.

"Why did that guy send you here?" I heard Shu ask suddenly from somwhere in the bathroom.

I sighed quietly at the loss of connection with my memories and looked up at him inside the bathtub. "You know why I'm here," I said, looking at him with a stoic expression.

He opened one eye and looked at me from the side.

"You know I was coming here to become your bride," I answered anyway, looking back down at the floor.

"I was only told that. I wanna know why you, though. As troublesome as you are."

I looked up at him feeling a bit offended and insulted, but nonetheless, I looked to the side and furrowed my brows in slight thought. "He expects me to make sure you marry me and to make you the vampire king," I stated simply. I felt his eyes on me and I continued. "I don't know why he chose me, the only thing I want to do is save my family. That's my main purpose right now," I said, looking back at him.

"You do realize your blood tastes just like Yui's..." he said, looking at me with intent eyes mixed with a bored expression.

"Right...?" I questioned, encouraging him to continue.

"Yours tastes synthetic, though," he said, getting up from the tub, his clothes dripping as he walked towards me.

I looked up at him and let out a small sigh. "Yeah, and?" I asked, still not wanting to give much away.

"Why do you hide behind that façade?" he asked, surprising me with the sudden question as he crouched down in front of me.

My eyes went wide at his statement. "Façade?" I asked.

"You hold back," he clarified, a tinge of something behind his words.

"No, I don't, and if I may ask; Why do you ask so many questions?" I asked him, looking down at my lap. I had expected Shu to be the most careless, but he was being surprisingly thoughtful towards my being here. Or at least that's what I wanted to believe.

"You submit to us easily. You don't squirm or scream like Yui, or any bride for that matter," he stated plainly. I looked up at him in confusion, wondering where this was headed. "There's more to you than you show, I want to know why," he said, standing up to his full height again.

His words surprised me slightly as I didn't really take Shu as the kind to care about me, or anyone for that matter. "My job is to satisfy your needs and become your bride. I have no say in what happens to me," I told him sternly.

I simply sighed and looked back down. I knew the more I spoke, the bigger chance I had to get myself killed. In all cases, that's what I needed to avoid at all costs.

I felt a hand on my wrist and my body being pulled up quickly. My back slammed against the wall and I found Shu near my neck. "You will never become my bride, I will never be the vampire king and you won't be alive to tell the story to your family," he said in a monotonous voice.

I looked away from him and looked at the clock. It had been more 24 hours. He would know, and the thought of him doing so immediately made me begin struggling under Shu's grip, trying to release myself. "Let me go, Shu!" I said urgently, struggling in his grasp.

He held my wrists tighter to the point of bruising. "Now you care. Hmph. Just stay calm and let my fangs enter you," he said, his face nearing my neck.

I prepared for the impact and felt a sharp pain in my neck. As quickly as he bit down, he took his fangs out. He then did something I didn't expect any vampire to do...

Shu circled his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him, inserting his fangs back inside where he had just bitten and continuing to drink from me with need.

My eyes went wide. He didn't back away in disgust. He wanted more.

I felt him take his fangs out, moving his head up to look at me with my blood running down the side of his mouth.

"Your blood is the finest I've ever drank. Better than Yui's," he said, his eyes directed at my neck. I furrowed my brows at him, not quite being able to process what he had just said. "Those pills you were taking, were they making your blood sweeter to please us?" he asked.

I nodded and he sighed. "Your father told me to take them every 24 hours," I let out.

"Hmm..." he hummed, loosening his grip on my waist.

"You liked my blood...?" I asked him, still not quite believing him.

"It was bitter, not many vampires like it that way, but I do," he said, lazily keeping his eyes open.

"I thought you were going to kill me—"

"Were you scared?" he interrupted me with a smirk.

I gave him a cautious look. "Why didn't you kill me?" I asked, raising a brow and feeling more confident.

"It'd be too troublesome to dispose of the body, and your blood is better than Yui's, I'm not gonna go back to it after tasting yours," he replied, moving closer to me and picking me up bridal style, the gesture feeling familiar as I felt his wet clothes against my dry ones.

I gasped at the sudden movement, but nonetheless wrapped my arms around his neck. "S-Shu, what are you—"

"Quiet," he ordered as we appeared in a room with a white bed, and light-greenish covering on the bed along with a greenish-yellow couch.

I stayed quiet and waited for his next move.

He placed me down on the bed and kept his hands around my waist while pulling me closer to him so that he was flush against my back, his clothes suddenly dry in a split second.

"Shu, is this your room?" I asked softly to keep the silence prominent.

"Yes, now be quiet," he ordered.

I looked down at his hands around my waist which made me feel secure in a way. Never like those other men—secure wasn't something I felt, never, almost. His hands looked soft and his skin color was a soft peach color, more white than anything. I reached down towards his hands slowly and placed my warm one on the back of his hand. They were cold enough to send a chill, but soft as I had expected.

"Hm?" I heard him hum.

I removed my hand quickly and placed them under my head. "Sorry," I whispered, barely audible but I knew he could hear me.

A few moments passed until he tightened his grip on my waist, causing me to move closer to him. I felt the presence of his head behind my own and I gulped, the feeling of being this close to someone was unfamiliar, yet it felt familiar in so many ways. Most specifically when I was around Shu. Although his touch around my waist should be said to be no different than when Laito had done it, the feeling felt safer in ways I couldn't pinpoint. Almost as though I had felt it before.

I halted my thoughts and reminded myself that my job was to guarantee his marriage to me, and whatever else was going on in my head, needed to stop. I reminded myself of what Shu said. "You will never become my bride."

I needed him to marry me at all costs. My family was depending on me and I couldn't let myself be distracted by anything or anyone.

I needed to remember that...
