Ochako's POV

After we got back from America things became semi normal, classes started the next Monday and we were back to a regular routine. Over the next month we had started preparing for our next challenge, convincing a judge to let us adopt Eri. At least a few times a week, Izu and I had what we call the 'War Room' with All Might, Nezu, and Aizawa in order to build our case.

It was now a week before march and we had been sitting through class all day and were now in hero training, "Come on Icy Hot, is that the best you can do." Bakugo screamed as he launched an attack at Todoroki.

"Why would I go all out against a hot head like you." Todoroki said as he skated out of the way on his ice.

"WHAT DID YOU SAY HALF AND HALF!!!" As Bakugo said that he closed in on Todoroki, Todoroki threw up a wall of ice that incased Bakugo.

"Todoroki wins." All Might said. "All right, everyone is dismissed. Go get changed and head back to the dorms."

We all started to head to the changing rooms, "Midorya, hold on a moment." Aizawa said.

Both Izu and myself turned to look at Mr. Aizawa and he was looking at us with a shit eating grin. "What?" I asked.

"I didn't think it would take this long for you to respond to his name without a second thought." Aizawa's words caused my face to turn into a dark red. "Anyway, we need to talk to you about the adoption. You two change and then meet us in my office."

"yes sir." Izu said as we walked away from the arena, the approaching spring air carried by a cold breeze caused me to shiver, and Izu wrapped his arms around me. "Cold?"

"Yeah, just a bit. I knew I should have brought my coat with me to the arena." I said as I felt his warmth wrap around me.

"Well let's get inside and get changed." He said as we made it inside.

After we got changed, we made our way through the halls and to Aizawa's office. We knocked and he called for us to enter.

"Hello, you two, we have some news." All Might said as we took a seat across from him.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Well, we have a judge that is willing to hear the case. We will appear the first week of march, so we don't have long. It's a good thing we've worked so hard up to this point to be ready. Eri will only be able to be present once the judge calls for her, so we will take the whole class and they will be in charge of Eri as well as they will all be called to testify as witnesses to your interactions with her." Mr. Aizawa continued to go over some of the details about the court date and we mostly just listened as he explained the details. After a little bit more we were dismissed and headed back to the dorms.

As we walked, I started to shake, not from the chilly pre-spring breeze, but from one simple thought; What if this doesn't work?

"What's wrong?" Izu asked, wrapping me into a hug.

"It's noth- "I tried to say before I was interrupted.

"Didn't we agree not to lie?" I slumped over into his chest.

"What if this doesn't work? We've spent so much time working to win this, and so much time loving her. I'm just afraid that we'll go through with this and end up watching someone take her away from us." As I spoke, I started to cry with my words as the thought of her being taken from us flooded my mind.

"Ochako, I can't say that I haven't had the same thoughts as you. I would be lying if I said I had already made it past them, but I know that how much we care about her and I know that I won't stop until I convince the judge." As I stood there in his embrace, I felt something wet drip onto my head. I looked up to see tears in his eyes too. I squeezed him tighter as we stood there.
