The next morning the bedroom door bursted open slamming against the wall. Shadow pottered in, her little white tail just visible above the edge of the matress. Chaol groaned next to me, burying his face in my shoulder, trying to block out the light. "Oof." Shadow jumped onto the bed, forcing the wind out of me, as she sat on my stomach. Saskia followed her in, already dressed, her hair perfectly done. "I am never looking after her again!" Saskia snapped waving her hand through the air. "She did not rest once last night. She was howling and scratching at the door the whole time."

Shadow smiled on my chest, her pointed ears flopping to one side as she cocked her head at me grinning. Chaol snapped up, glaring at her. He pushed her off of me, but Shadow just came back growling at Chaol, the tar black fur on her back standing on end. "Shadow!" I shouted at her, amazed at how protective she was being. She sat back on me, weighing as much as a teenager now. Chaol looked to me, cursing the wolf.
Whilst Saskia watched with her arms folded. "I came to drop her back, but you two sounded to be up to no good."
I blushed, hiding my face into Chaol's arm that lay across my upper chest. We had been loud, I was well aware of that, but not so loud that people in the hallway could hear.
"I hope you are using some form of contraception, because I am out the moment you get pregnant." And with that she snapped her heels toegther and marched out.
Shadow lay down on me, getting herself comfortable. Chaol pressed his wet lips to my neck. "Get that Wolf off the bed." He raised an eyebrow.
"Shadow." I said running a hand through her soft fur. "Down." Shadow stopped smiling but obeyed and sat on the floor, watching us.
I gulped, rolling into Chaol's chest, I wished we never had to get up. "You didn't take your drink did you?" He asked, tangling his hands in my hair.
"No." I mumbled breathing him in, these were the moments I loved, when Chaol and I could just lie together, after a lovely night, just holding each other. "You said I didn't have to."
Chaol's chest heated up, becoming ablaze with love. He knew what the likely hood was if I didn't drink the contraceptive.
I sat up, leaning over him. A rumble leaving Shadows chest.
"Why is she being so protective?" I whispered, watching her. She was always so gentle around me, like another soppy puppy, so why did she growl at Chaol earlier.
"She's not." Chaol said, leaning up so our lips were only a hairs width apart. "She's a wolf, she kills for fun not reason."
I pushed him back down, looking to Shadow as I nibbled my upper lip. But Shadow wasn't like that, she didn't want to hurt anyone. "Not her Chaol, she's different."
He scoffed, sat up, swinging his legs over the edge of the bed. "I hope I don't have to see my father again."
I wrapped an arm around his bare torso. "We've got training all day, he'll be busy with the king stuff, we won't see him." I could feel his muscles clamping up as he thought about his father, his anger building and buidling. I pulled him back into the bed, using little effort to over power him. I bit his lower lips between my teeth pulling on it. "Stop thinking about him! Think about me." Instantly a smile came to his face, his hands trickling up and down my sides.
There was a deep bark and Shadow was on the bed, planting her butt between us, and lying down like a wall seperating us. "She is really going to have to start sleeping in the kennels." We both laughed, and I latched my fingers into her fur, holding her close.
