Y/n didn't look to have processed the fact that she had killed Chaol, the body heavy in my lap. Everyone around us was screaming running away from her and her magic, as yourname stumbled senseless to the doors, everytime she moved her hands it happened all over again. Bodies lying everywhere, and it dawned on me that she was going to kill everyone.I lay Chaol on the floor, tears running down my face, at my dead best friend. But he couldn't be dead, he had so much more life in him. I think I remembered correctly, as I slapped the butt of my hand into his ribs. Pushing up and down on his body. "Come on Chaol!" I blew air into his mouth, it stunk of grungey soup. "Come on!" I shouted at him. "Y/n needs you!"
As if kissed by an Angel, he buckled upright, gasping and gurgling for air. "Easy, take it easy." I laughed, the bliss of seeing his eyes unfrosted swarmed me with warmth. His eyes were bright red, and every vein in his muscles looking like they might burst through the skin. "What happened?" His voice was a croak like he had been brought back as a toad.
I held him, realising he would not undertsand the bodies that littered the throne room, the one caught between the door.
He turned white again as he looked for her amongst the bodies. "She's lost control Chaol, her magic... it's killing everyone!"
Chaol's eyes went wide, and he struggled to stand, his feet slipping and sliding underneath him, his wrists flopping around as he cringed from the pain. "I need to get to her!"
We both froze, Chaol falling to the floor, as the padding footsteps sounded through the door, a shadow looming over the body. The yellow eyes of Shadow stared at us, blood flowing off her chin. Chaol gulped. "Help me up, she'll destory everything if she isn't careful." I grabbed his arm and pulled him up, running him to the door. She had literally killed everyone. They were all lying down, some with broken necks, others just dead with no apparent cause. Chaol was tensing next to me, cradling his hands in his arms. This looked too much like the murder case of the lady after the ball. We got out the castle, the past few bodies had been more of a mess - shredded to chunks by a furious animal. "How can she be killing all of them?" I whispered, gagging as the open eyes glared at me, the life in them long gone. Chaol too was in shock. "I have no idea. Do you think we should have told each her?"
I nibbled my lips as we reached onto the grass, blood stains running long tracks in the green carpet. "Perhaps."
A tear leaked out of Chaol. "Where did she go?"
I pointed to the long streak of death. "Back to the palace by the looks of it."
