The Starwood, 1981.
(Gwen's point of view)

He actually apologized. He chivalric of him.
I thought with a sense of sarcasm.

It wasn't as if I was about ready to spill my guts, but I felt sick. The bubbling feeling in my stomach made me ache, but that wasn't until I saw a cursed face enter the room.

"Tommy, baby!" I heard a high pitched voice exclaim. "I'm so sorry. I know I'm late, but I had to see you."

I knew who the voice belonged to. It was all too familiar, and too annoying to have it knocked out of my brain.

Jane Fisher waltz into the dressing room to go to her boyfriend, Tommy by swinging her thin, tan arms around his neck and pulling him to her lips. From what I saw, Tommy grabbed ahold of her like she was the last toy on the shelf. He hugged her waist then pulled her up so she wasn't on her feet.

I gagged at the sight, hoping that no one had seen me but just when I thought I was in the clear, I saw a pair of green eyes looking in my direction with an obvious smile on his lips. He was chuckling quietly in his little corner at my reaction.

Ever since Nikki found out that I was the waitress who he called a bitch, I kept my distance from him. But it didn't stop the stares or the silent, meaningless gestures.

"Tommy," Mick said, breaking the couple's moment. "New girlfriend?" He asked his band mate.

"Oh yeah." Tommy muttered with a slight smile.
"Mick, this is Jane."

Everyone in the room stared at Jane like you wouldn't believe. Wide eyes could be sensed from a mile away. The atmosphere changed with a snap of someone's fingers, and inconvenience could be felt.

Jane looked at me then to Chrissy with her trademark smirk. It was the one thing I couldn't stand besides working in that bar with her as my superior.

As if she didn't notice us, Jane moved her brown eyes to Tommy and made a sweet, innocent face.
"Tommy, baby," She dragged. "Do you have any blow? I ran out already."

She snaked her arms around his shoulders and began to play with the ends of his brown hair, completely hypnotizing him.

It was something she did a lot. In fact, she did it at least ten times a week. She used any tactic to hypnotize a guy into getting her anything she wanted. In this case, she wanted cocaine from Tommy.

"Babe, you know I gave the last of it to Nikki." He told her.

I averted my eyes from the couple to Nikki, who just stood there smirking at Tommy and Jane while drinking his beer. I couldn't stop the corners of my lips from moving upwards at how the arrogance was radiating off of him.

I hated how he treated me the other night but now that he was doing it to Jane, I was satisfied. I was still not over it though.

"Boys, you almost ready to go?" A short man dressed in business casual attire walked into the dressing room.

"Yeah, Allan." Nikki answered for the band.

I'd say everyone had been ready since Jane had shown up. They were all in the getup they were in at The Whiskey, but Vince had his arms wrapped around his two girls of the night, Tommy was still being fooled by Jane, Mick and Chrissy were having their own conversation while Nikki was across the room from me, drinking his beer.

"Let's go, guys." Nikki announced, causing everyone to break themselves from their worlds.

Everyone in the band individually got up and followed Nikki out the door towards the stage. I made sure Chrissy was in front of me, so I knew where I was going.

We ended up in front of the stage where there was already a huge crowd of people. It was sort of like the one from the other night, but it was a lot bigger. More dance floor than bar but that's what the inside of a nightclub looks like.

I completely faded out once I heard the music start. All I knew was that I was dancing in the dark lighting until my head started hurting. The music was so heavy, but it felt nice to actually dance to it than to serve beers to strangers as they played.

I finally had the chance to look at Nikki again after I started getting a headache. I was going to the bar that was across the room from the stage. After ordering a drink, I watched Nikki doing the same thing he did before. He banged his head to the bass of Tommy's drum while his fingers held the pick that strummed the strings of his bass guitar.

He looked like he was having so much fun. I couldn't stop the grin from appearing on my lips. I thought it was strange that he wasn't making flirtatious smirks or sending winks at the girls in the front row, but I couldn't concentrate on that so much.

The whole time I watched him, he was smiling and bouncing around slightly on the balls of his feet. He would bang his head every so often but not too much. In my opinion, I thought he was getting a headache from all of it.

"Hey!" I heard a man's voice say from beside me.

I turned my head to the man who attempted to grab my attention. I knitted my eyebrows in curiosity to why he was bothering me.

"Wanna dance?" He asked.

I didn't say anything to him. I only made a disgusted face before heading back into the crowd to find Chrissy.
