Los Angeles, 1981.
(Gwen's point of view)Outside wasn't much of a place to be at four o'clock in the morning. All of the stores were closed, most of the pubs and strip joints were opened to the public, and there were homeless people sleeping on bus benches and alleyways.
It was sad to have this view in the early morning. So sad that it made my hand hurt worse. After Nikki insisted on leaving his party to take me to the hospital for my hand, we made our way down the metal staircase outside for me to take a gander at the many vehicles parked out front. The second I made it to the concrete sidewalk, I looked at Nikki, who stood by me.
"So," I took a deep breath and scanned all of them parked at the curb. "Which one's yours?" I questioned.
"Oh," He chuckled. "I don't have a car." He stated.
I raised my eyebrows at him, expecting some sort of answer. "Then what do you have?" I asked.
"A baby." He smirked, whipping his keys from the pocket of his leather jacket.
He moved himself in front of me to walk down the street a bit further to where there was a black motorcycle leaning on its kickstand.
You have got to be kidding me. He has motorcycle.
"Oh, no." I shook my head as soon as he came within five feet of it.He saw my reaction and smiled at me innocently.
"What?" He questioned."I'm not getting on that thing." I shook my head as an exhausted smile curled my lips.
"Why? You chicken?" He chuckled.
I had to roll my eyes. "I'm not chicken." I remarked. "I just don't like motorcycles."
"Well, tonight you will make an exception for them." He said before going to the side of it and hoisting his leg to straddle the seat.
"I'd rather take my chances of getting mugged." I scoffed.
The look he gave me was unreadable but with his wide green eyes on me, I could tell he was very skeptic of what I just said.
"Gwen," He said in a stern manner. "You get your ass on this bike before I come over there and pick you up."
I could only stare at him from ten feet away with my blue orbs. He was awfully demanding for someone who had been rocking his ass off since seven o'clock.
Just by his stare and how sudden his tone in voice had changed from flirty to stern, I could tell he wasn't playing around, so I slowly crept near the bike as his face softened.Once I was within arms length of him and his bike, he looked at me through the small strands of his black hair.
"She's not gonna bite, ya know?" He said in a soft tone."You sure about that?" I questioned, smirking only a bit.
"Well," He dragged out. "She might if you're not me or if you're not nice to her." He chuckled.
Slowly but surely, I made myself get on his motorcycle that was as black as night. Similar to Prince Charming in the story books, Nikki sped off with me on the back of his motorcycle. I held onto his waist with one arm as the other one was practically glued to my stomach.
The cool night air calmed the raging heat that had inhabited my knuckles and fingers. The breeze blew my dark hair back along with Nikki's as he weaved his way through the stop lights that were fortunately lit green.
When the hospital came into full view, Nikki was nice enough to look past his narcissism to let me off at the front of the hospital.
Once the bike stopped, I immediately dismounted it and made a beeline towards the entrance, but an engine shutting off made me stop in my tracks.
"What're you doing?" I questioned, whipping my head around.
He dismounted his bike right after he put down his kickstand. "Coming with you."
"No." I stated and shook my head. "If anything, you are going to stay out here."
"Only a fucking idiot would stand out here, Gwen." He breathed out a laugh. "I'm going in with you."
"I'm not allowing it." I scoffed as he stopped in front of me.
"Oh," He chuckled. "You're not allowing it?"
"Yeah," I rolled my eyes. "Look, just go home. I'll be fine."
"God, you're a stubborn bitch." He snickered at me.
I raised my eyebrows. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me!" He said, raising his voice. "You're a stubborn fuckin' bitch!" He said smiling.
"And you're a pain in my fuckin' ass." I hissed causing him to only smirk wildly.
"Wouldn't be the first time I caused pain to a woman's ass." He remarked, chewing his gum loudly with a smirk.
I cringed. "You're a twisted pig and I pity you."
There it was!
The old us. The spitefully dashing Nikki Sixx was trying to pull my strings while I was effortlessly defending myself. This was the attitude I wasn't willing to question from him. I expected the arrogance to come out sometime, I just didn't know it would take a broken hand, a fight, and a motorcycle ride to the hospital to get it out of him.
"I've been called worse, babe." He chuckled.
"Oh my god." I groaned. "Just fuck off, okay?"
"Where and when, baby?" He continued to chew his gum loudly, only setting me off more.
"Please, stop." I grumbled desperately.
"Stop what?" He smiled in his own conceited way.
"Stop acting like an idiot! Stop acting like a complete tool!" I exclaimed. "Stop acting like you can get every girl in your bed! Especially with me." I glared.
"Correction," He chuckled. "I only act like that because I know I can. Especially with you." He stated. "I could have you in my bed right now if that's what I wanted."
"Not willingly." I scoffed, swallowing hard, and unable to look away from his green eyes.
"Oh." He raised his eyebrows at me. "I would if I could." He said in a way that made my skin prickle and made my breathing difficult. "But you're not as sleazy or easy as the other girls. That's what makes you so fun to mess with."
His smile almost seemed cynical to me. How wide it was made me question if that gleam in his eyes was the slightly drunk glaze or the psycho killer persona slowly creeping out.
"Just," I stammered, holding onto my hand and scanning my eyes around the dim lighting of the parking lot around us.
"Just come on. Let's get this over with." I gestured to the hospital entrance with a flick of my head.
