Sunset Strip, 1981.
(Gwen's point of view)

Days passed where my life felt like shit. Even when I was working at the Whiskey, Jane would be there mentally taunting me as I worked.

Chrissy had moved to a part time bartender now that her and Mick had settled in together. I, on the other hand, was back to renting an apartment by myself. I didn't want to bother Chrissy due to the fact that if I told her then she wouldn't care. She would only sing "I told you so" then go back to her boyfriend on Mar's Mountain.

Every part of me told me to keep myself occupied. I tried my best to work through the week without tearing someone's head off but the feeling was too overwhelming.

Today was inventory check for Jane and Janice. It wasn't so busy but it was enough to keep me away from Jane. Or so I thought.

I was behind the bar helping the other employees out with their orders by making tequila shots. I was so concentrated on pouring only so much in the shots before I noticed Jane in front of me.

"Let's pick up the pace, Gwen!" She ordered me.

I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself from saying anything. I didn't want to lose my job. Although sometimes it felt like I had nothing else to my name anymore.

"Let's go! Come on!" She clapped her hands in front of my face to make me go faster but it wasn't doing anything.

"It takes you forever to make drinks but it takes me three minutes to make your boyfriend cum. Quicken the pace, sweetheart." She spat.

I abruptly stopped myself from making my tequila shots and looked at her with the look of hurt on my face. Again, that spiteful smirk laid on her face perfectly. In my head, I was ready to knock it off.

"You fuckin' bitch!" I spat.

"Excuse me?" Jane raised her eyebrows at me.

I will not be made a weakling in this bar. Not ever again. If I was going to get fired or quit then I was going to go all out.

I loudly sat the bottle of tequila on the bar and made my way out to her.
"Who do you think you are?" I shook my head. She stayed quiet after she finally saw the side of me that she had never seen before. "To just waltz into my fuckin' life and ruin everything for me."

"I'd watch it if I were you," Jane said slowly.

How fuckin' quaint. I rolled my eyes.
"Or what? You'll fuckin' fire me?" I said in a taunting manner. "Jokes on you, you spiteful whore. I fuckin' quit."
