Hollywood, 1989
(Gwen's point of view)I swore weddings were never my scene, but if I was at one then I'd be at the cocktail bar during the entire reception. There would be no viewings of father/daughter dances, no catching the bouquet of flowers or seeing the groom take off the bride's garter for me. I was prone to drink at social events. That was until I finally had Nikki wrapping himself around my finger.
He had been sober for nearly a year, and within that time Mick had finally proposed to Chrissy after dating for nearly eight years and having Stephanie together. The wedding ceremony was beautiful with Chrissy being escorted down the isle by her adopted father while her adopted mother watched in complete awe. It was certainly a sight to watch the ceremony. Nikki and I was glad to actually be sober during it.
After the wedding was the reception where the real party would take place. The reception was inside of a huge hotel. They had a marvelous ballroom accompanying with lights, music, food, and drinks. Although no one from the Mötley Crüe family couldn't get drunk or have the occasional drink, thanks to Nikki, we had to suffer and stay sober while the rest of the wedding drank as they pleased.
Nikki was out on the terrace talking to Tommy while I was congratulating Mick and Chrissy in the new marriage. Every once in a while I would look over my shoulder to catch Nikki's eyes looking in my direction. When I would I'd smile to myself and continue talking to the lovely couple like I didn't see anything.
I was happy to finally have him back again. The ache in my heart was no more and the fire in my loins returned in it's pleasurable way. When I was done talking to the newlyweds, I placed my attention on Nikki as he continued talking to Tommy.
His emerald eyes focused on his band mate until he saw the sparkles of my dress shining and reflecting the purple lights of the hotel. When he turned his attention from Tommy to me, I felt my stomach flip and my heart pounding in my chest. I was very surprised after all these years the affect of his look never change the way it made me feel.
When I passed the barrier of people I noticed Nikki giving me the biggest grin while Tommy held his hand out to me.
"Gwen," He dragged out with his hand asking for a 'high five'.I chuckled and gave his hand a slap with mine. "When are you and the Sixxter gettin' hitched?" He asked me.
I looked at Nikki and released a breathy laugh. "Not for a while." I said, jokingly.
"Awe!" Nikki pouted. "Come on, baby," He whined, bringing his arm around my shoulder to pull me close to him. He pressed his face against my dark hair and laughed. "We should consider it."
