Hollywood, 1990
(Gwen's point of view)

There was a word I would describe for the year of 1990. The words I really wanted to use was peaceful, miraculous, and loving. But that year was the year of patience. It was the year we realized something was different in a good way for us. We had fallen madly in love in the years before but nothing could compare to the love we still continued to have.

I was interrupted by the abrupt sound of a loud engine roaring out front. Usually when Nikki came home you could hear him before seeing his tall body coming towards you. He had a motorcycle that was practically his second lover. Since he loved his motorcycle so much he had to have his bike so loud that it was almost illegal.

I rolled my eyes at his loud bike before he cut the engine off. It's things like his motorcycle that scare me anymore. Although I do have a reason to fear them.

I turned my head in the direction of the front entrance from the patio chair I was sitting in. I smiled in a way like no other could. I knew who was walking through the front door of our home and I was more than buoyant to finally see him after being away for so long.

I quickly glanced down at my feet to see mine and Nikki's baby girl laying on her stomach and watching the clouds sail above us. Her father's green eyes shone brightly at mine. She gave me a gummy grin and cooed.

"You know who's home." I told her, giggling.

"Babe?" I heard Nikki call for me.

"Out on the patio!" I said, giving him a half turn.

I heard his footsteps approaching me. His boots clicked against the brick before I felt his lips on mine. He hummed for a brief second before gently pulling his lips away, leaving me grinning from ear to ear.

"I've missed you." He said, cupping my face in his hands and rubbing his thumb along my cheek.

"I've missed you too." I said giving him a satisfied grin.

"It sucked you couldn't have joined us for the tour." He frowned.

"Who else was going to birth and take care of our daughter?" I raised my eyebrows at him.

He chuckled and gave me one last peck before looking at the baby girl at his feet. Her gummy smile fell when she caught the sight of her father with his flat black hair, many tattoos for her to look at, and his tall stature that seemed to amaze her.

She stared at him with curious eyes and took notice to the shiny streak of blonde in his jet black nest he called his hair.

"There's my girl!" He said in complete awe with her.

He kneeled down to get closer to our child but she continued to stare at him with her curious eyes.

He furrowed his eyebrows. "Is she okay? She's staring at me like she doesn't know who I am."

I chuckled, making him glance at me. "She doesn't, Nikki. She was born when you were on tour."

"Did you show her pictures of me?" He asked, hastily.

"She's a baby. I'm lucky to get her attention for even a second." I said, defending myself.

Nikki licked his lips then radiated his attention on our three month old girl. She continued to look at him, letting her eyes wonder over his visible green iris and wild hair.
