CHAPTER 9- Getting closer

Minghao P.O.V.

After classes, I walk straight to the gate without telling my friends. I stayed for a little while as wait for a certain person. After some small time passed, I finally saw her figure.

I poked her back and she slowly turned her head. Her face was painted with a confused one.

"Hey Lacey, can i walk you home?" her eyes blinked a couple of times. "If it's ok with you"

"w-why?" she asked innocently. I was caught off guard and suddenly felt shy.

"cause...." she stared at me for a little while I look away trying to look for a lie. "I... want to know you more!" I smiled awkwardly as she nodded awkwardly too.

"sure then..." she started walking and I stayed fir a while.

Fvk I'm so stupid she might be thinking I'm being weird...

I walk quickly and to match her pace. The walk was awfully quiet, I couldn't start a conversation it was so awkward. I groaned quietly scolding myself for making this company quiet.

As I scold my idiocy, I saw a small ice cream shop.

"Hey, Do you want to stop by? Let's buy ice cream, my treat."

"are you sure?"

"of course! Come on!" I held her wrist and pull her in. "What flavor do you want?" I asked her.

"strawberry"

"Alright I'll be back" she nod and took a sit. I went to the counter and buy our ice cream.

"can I get one strawberry and one choco Hazelnut?"

"sure, that'll be $5.26" I handed her the money. She started making the ice cream and gave it to me after.

I walk back to Lacey's table and gave her ice cream.

"thanks..."

"Welcome~ so can i ask you something?" I asked and she nod while licking her ice cream. "Can you tell me something about yourself?" She stop for a moment then look at me.

"Why?" She said.

"I just wanted to know you more and get close to you"

"oh..." she said, seemed uncomfortable.

"I just want to be a close friend to you" she looked back at me a little surprised.

"ok then,"

"So tell me about yourself"

"Well i live alone because my parents are in another country"

"Do you have siblings?"

"I have an older brother but my parents brought him with them then they left me here"

This sentence is a lil bit familliar to me but i can't remember where i heard it.

"so, how's life with them in another country?" her face become a little bit sad. "s-sorry is there something wrong?" she shooked her head vigorously and smiled bitterly.

"it's just... I have no connection with them anymore, but they still send me some money. They just won't talk to me anymore."

"but why?..."

"I don't know" her smile was still there and I feel sad seeing her bitter smile.

"ok let's move on!" I said trying to cheer her up. "so... I wanted to tell you a secret." she seemed curious, her eyes lit up a little.

"what is it?" I gestured her to come closer and she hesitantly leaned.

"you're the only one I told you about this, so don't tell anyone ok?" she nodded. "I have a secret place" I whispered. She looked at me with circled eyes.

"really?" I nodded. "I... I have one too..."

"huh? Really?"

"yeah..."

"that's so cool! We both have a secret place." I smiled as she did the same. "someday I'll bring you there"

"o-ok then" she giggled.

"it's getting late already and I think we're getting closer a little too. Let's continue this tomorrow" I said.

We stood up and walk away from the shop. A few blocks from the store, we finally reached her place. She turn to me with a smile and it was making my heart warm.

"Thank you so much Minghao. You somehow made my feelings lighten a little. I appreciate it so much" she smiled more widely.

"you're welcome m'lady" I said and bow a little. We both chuckled and she waved at me before walking inside.

I walked back to my still with smile on my face.

I reached my home and went to my room. I saw the diary and get it I plopped myself on my bed and open another page.

Hi diary guess what happened today? I am so happy! i bumped into him my one and only love. He helped me to stand up and he hold my hand! help meeee.

Anyway i want to tell him the truth now, i want to confess but I'm too coward and i don't have enough courage to do it or maybe i should not tell him. Even tho he likes me back, I don't know if it's possible to love someone with this cursed ill I have. I don't want him to get hurt if I ever die. Brooo I'm crying again I hate this. Anyway that's all for today again bye!

I feel so bad after learning about what happened to her. I wanted to her if only i knew who owned this diary, I should've help her.

Lacey P.O.V.

When i got home i cant help but smiled brightly because of his gentleness, my heart felt so light. I'm so happy i wish we could do that everyday.

When we are walking a while ago i feel like my heart beats so fast but it didn't hurt. i feel like I'm just a normal person that don't have any sick, it was a pleasure feeling. How could that possibly happen? I think he is my medicine, And i wish that he is.
