Being on the passenger side of the ride while Alexander drove was always going to be a burden for my life.

He drove his pick up truck like there was no tomorrow. Alexander just chuckled at me anytime I'd clutch the seat or beg for him to slow down. But he obviously didn't.

We finally made it to a red light, which gave me time to breathe. "You're going to kill us, Alexander."

He chuckled. "So what's the plan today?"

"Just tutoring. You could sleep over if you want." I suggested, and he looked at the road.

"I'd rather not. Come sleep over at mines though." He declined.

"I was there for two weeks. My mom won't let me." I said.

We made it to my house but it was different. My mother told me this morning she would have a few of her friends over but she didn't tell me she had that many friends.

At least a hundred people were in the front yard. My stepdad, Mark, was cooking some hamburgers on the BBQ while my mom's bright smile was talking to everyone.

"What's happening here?" Alexander asked me as he parked outside of my house.

"I don't know, I think my moms having a barbecue." Alexander looked to be nervous at this.

He thought my mother didn't like him, which was true. She knew him and how bad he was at school, and she knew how he hurt me when I came back from the trip.

Just so he didn't face her wrath, he'd climb his way up to my room, which I never understood how it was possible.

"It's okay. We'll just go in, nobody will even see us." I assured him.

Alexander and I got off the truck and quickly started to make our way in the house.

I internally groaned when I heard Mark calling my name and turned around with a bright smile.

"Alexander Scott? What are you two doing?" He asked, his eyes suspicious at our hands tangled together.

"We're going to study." I dismissed us. Just then, my mother came into view.

"Sky." She called out to me and I turned around a little slower than normal. Alexander stood awkwardly beside me, looking like he was about to pass out.

"Hi mom." I cringed.

"You aren't going to introduce me?" She said.

"Alexander, this is my mother. Mom, this is Alexander. We really need to go study." I attempted to pull him in the house but Mark stopped me.

"Studying won't go anywhere. Have some burgers." Mark said.

"Okay." With no choice, I led Alexander to the table where there were hamburgers. "I'm sorry, Alex."

"It's okay. I had to meet your parents one day or the other."

I looked back at my mother who was watching us with her eyes half closed. My mother didn't like him, I knew that for a fact. I just had to show her that he is good because he wasn't leaving anytime soon.
