"It's Halloween Hadley, you can't just mope around here all day" Derek said."I don't want to go out" I said.
I was trying to watch The Office in the living room. I was sitting on the couch with my feet resting on the coffee table. While Sherlock sat beside me and I pet him. He seemed to be just as annoyed with Derek and his attempts to get me to leave the house as I was.
Halloween isn't exactly my favorite holiday. Don't get me wrong, I love Halloween. Sure, it's fun to dress up and go out but for some reason this year it didn't feel the same. I never end up looking good in my costume anyways.
"Isn't your cast having a party tonight or something?" Derek asked.
"I don't really want to go" I sighed "I don't feel too great"
Emotionally I haven't really been in the best state. It's been really hard for me not having my parents encouragement during all of this. Not even a text back. I also haven't talked to Lydia too much lately. She's been so busy in college but we chat whenever we can.
We get to go to the theatre for the first time tomorrow. I'm super excited but nervous because we open in almost a month. I don't want to screw that up. I just feel like with all that's going on, it's be best for me to just stay home tonight.
"Derek you can't force her to leave the house." Elycia said.
I can always Elycia to come into a conversation whenever I need her most.
"Besides, she has a busy day tomorrow. It okay if she stayed home and relaxes" she continued. "Us on the other hand, we're going to be late if we don't go now"
Derek sighed. He knew he wasn't going to win this fight. I hugged them goodbye and watched them walk out the door.
Ah, peace and quiet...for about forty five minutes until there was a knock on the door. Great, who could that be?
I grabbed the baseball bat Derek hides in the hall closet and walked towards the door. I looked through the peep hole and saw Dan, Becca and Seth standing outside my door.
I sat the bat down and unlocked and opened the door.
"Happy Halloween!" The three of them said at the same time, sounding like children when they trick or treat. None of them were dressed up.
"Are you supposed to be three losers?" I asked jokingly.
"I'm offended" Dan said with his hand over his heart.
"Derek told us you were all alone tonight" Becca said. "So we thought we'd give you some company"
Of course Derek told them. Sometimes I think he's a little too worried about my social life.
"Aren't you guys going to the cast party tonight?" I asked.
"It won't be much of a party if you're not there" Seth said which made me smile.
"Come on in" I said opening the door all the way.
Once they walked in Sherlock immediately started barking like crazy. He wanted some attention. All three of them sat down in the living room and started playing with him.
"Let's watch a scary movie!" Dan suggested "It is Halloween after all"
"What do you have in mind?" I asked.
"How about the old Nightmare on Elm Street, with Johnny Depp?" Becca asked
"I'm down" Seth said "Good thing Becs brought it"
