"Hadley get your lazy butt out of bed" I heard Derek yell which caused me to snap awake from my dream.

It was Saturday, my day off. It was Derek's day off too so I don't know why he's being so pushy.

I rolled out of my bed and stumbled out of my room.

Once I made it into the kitchen I saw Derek and Elycia sitting on stools at the island looking at Derek's laptop screen.

"About time you decided to get up" Derek said sarcastically.

Elycia smacked his arm. "Derek I think you and I need to have a discussion about how we treat our guests" She said.

I laughed. Living with Derek and Elycia was so much fun. They always make me laugh and are always there if I need anything. Whether it be a hug, to talk or even toilet paper.

"Good morning sunshines" I said, pouring myself a cup of orange juice. "What do you have planned for today?"

"Whatever you're paying for" Derek said.

Elycia smacked his arm again.

"I was joking!" Derek defended while grabbing his arm, acting like Elycia hurt him. Which, we all obviously knew she didn't. She just rolled her eyes.

"We were planning on going to the pound." She said.

"The pound?" I asked. "What for?"

A smirk grew across Derek's face.

"Well you know we just thought the Klena slash Parker residence could use a new roommate"
He answered

"Roommate?" I repeated "Wait. Are we getting a dog?"

"Took you long enough to get it" Derek said

Elycia smacked him again and he yelled "joking" in his defense.

"Yes, we're getting a dog" Elycia said "and we thought you'd like to come with us to pick one out"

Going to pick out a new dog was just the distraction I needed from my chaotic life right now.

"I'd love to!" I said "When are we going?"

"Possibly in the next thirty minutes" Elycia answered "it's already twelve o'clock"

Yikes, I really did sleep in late. Oops.

"I'll be ready" I said right before I chugged my glass of OJ.

I went into my room and but on some leggings, a t-shirt and my vans. I threw my hair up into a messy bun and brushed my teeth. My face looked manageable so I only put on the bare minimum of makeup.

Once I was done, I ran into the living room. Derek and Elycia had moved from sitting in the kitchen, to on the couch.

"I'm ready" I said.

"About time" Derek said jokingly getting up from the couch. Elycia threatened to smack him again.

"Just kidding!" He yelled in defense before she could which made me laugh.

"Alright children" Elycia said. "Onward to the pound."

"I love dogs!" I yelled once we got to the pound.

Well, it's technically called an animal shelter. Derek got in trouble at the front desk for calling it a pound. Apparently they don't like that term.

Anyway, I was petting every single dog I walked by. They all got so excited when we walked into the room. I want to take them all home with me. We'll just kick Derek out of the house to make more room.
