Chapter 14. What...? Who's Tattletail?

The time machine landed. Leon hopped out and motioned for the others to stay put. He walked down the ominous alleyway they had landed in and peeked around the corner. There were no zombies. In fact, the city looked exactly the same but... no zombies. Leon gestured for his friends to follow, so they did. The house of the address was across the zombieless road, so they rushed over to it. Claire got ready to knock, when she heard a voice from the backyard.
"Me Tattletail! Me love you!" The voice was followed by squeaking, and another voice.
"No, shut up!" the other voice whispered. The other voice was the voice of a little boy. Then, another voice was heard, a deep, terrifying voice.
"Mama's looking after you!" Claire turned to see her comrades were wide eyed. Leon pointed to the backyard and Leon nodded. The fifteen began to make their way to the backyard. Although the situation they were in right now was distracting, Freddy couldn't keep his mind off the thought of Mike. What had happened to him? Where could he be now?

Suddenly, a little boy came into view. He was holding a little purple furby, one that had blue eyes. The boy stared with fear at the animatronics. He backed away slowly, before a grinding noise was heard behind him. He ran into Connor's arms, as if he were hiding. Leon shone his flashlight at where the noise was coming from, but the boy pulled the flashlight out of his hands.
"Hey-."
"Shh, or she'll hear you!" The little boy whispered. Leon glanced at Claire before looking back at the noise in the dark of the backyard. Suddenly, the lights came on, and the little boy quickly stepped away from Connor. Leon took the lights as a sign the creature making the noise had gone away, so he nodded at Connor.
"Little boy, everything's ok. I'm Connor," he said softly. The little boy relaxed a little.
"I'm Hank," he replied. Connor's eyes widened.
"Connor, what's wro-." Kara was cut off by Connor raising a hand.
"Hank what?"
"Hank Anderson," the little boy replied. Connor sighed.
"May I speak with you? In private?" Connor asked Leon.
"Sure." The two walked back around to the front yard.
"What's up, Connor?"
"We have to either make sure that boy is safe, or leave," Connor replied.
"But... why?"
"Because Lieutenant Hank Anderson is my partner and best friend in the future."

Leon agreed quickly and the two returned to the group.
"Little boy... where's your mum and dad?" Claire asked.
"They... they're asleep. But when I knock on the door to wake them, they ignore me, so I can't get their help," Hank replied.
"Help from what?" Kara asked, concerned.
"Help from her. Mama."
"Your mama-."
"No! Mama! This thing's mama!" Hank cried, lifting the furby in his arms.
"Give me a treat! Brush me!" the little purple thing squeaked. That's when everything went black.
"Hank! Hank, are you there?" Connor yelled.
"Shh, I'm here. No one make any noises, and don't speak," Hank replied. A noise of something being shaken echoed through the back yard, and light appeared out of a glowing flashlight. The small child led the group inside, leading them to the basement. With that, he wrapped the little furby up and brought the group upstairs to his room.
"Kid, get some sleep," Connor whispered.
"We'll make sure you don't get hurt."
"Thank you, mister!" Hank cried happily. He rolled over and began to snore.

Leon opened his eyes. He noticed it was dark, and he couldn't remember where he was. He sat up and held his head with one palm. He had a massive headache. He couldn't figure out where he was... seemed to be a child's room. Leon looked around, noticing his friends around on the floor. He noticed a boy in a bed and finally remembered where he was. Hank's house. It seemed to be night, had he slept through the whole day? That's when he heard a loud grinding noise. Everyone sat up in panic. Hank rushed to grab his flashlight. He shook it and shone it at the door.
"Y-you guys slept all day," Hank said softly.
"Why are you so tired?"
"Well, we-." Leon stopped. Should he tell this kid what they'd been through? He guessed that only children and crazy people would believe what they'd gone through.

Leon told Hank the whole story, with the help of his friends. Connor made sure Hank didn't find out about his future, because that may have consequences. Hank decided to lead the group back down to the basement, where the grinding was coming from. Simon noticed the washing machine was on, quickly telling Hank. Hank opened the little circular door to reveal... the furby? Again? Hank grabbed it.
"Tattletail, what are you doing out of your box?" Suddenly, voices were everywhere. Tattletail's voice, everywhere at once.
"Guys, there are more... we have to find them before Mama hears!" Hank cried. So yet again, the group had to split up. Kara and Alice were a pair, Josh and Simon, Freddy and Bonnie, Chica and Foxy, Leon, Claire and Sherry were together, North and Marcus were together, Mr X was alone Connor and Hank were together. Hank still gripped Tattletail- bringing it everywhere the two went.
"So... kid... what did you want to be when you grow up?" Connor asked, standing beside the little boy.
"I... I wanted to be a police officer!" Hank said with enthusiasm. Connor knelt down and gripped the boy's forearms.
"Well, just remember, your dreams can come true!" he said happily, pulling the boy into a hug. Hank, from confusion, did not hug back.

Everything went black, and grinding echoed through the house. Connor's walkie talkie buzzed and sound came through. He lifted the radio to his ear and listened.
"Connor, can we talk to Hank? So we know what to do when this happens?" he heard Leon's voice ask. Connor gave Hank the radio, listening to the instructions the little boy gave through the radio. He used his telepathic Android power to tell his robo friends what to do. Hank gave Connor the radio back just as red glowing eyes appeared. Hank kept his little mouth shut and pushed Connor away before shaking his light again.
