Leo's POV

It had been 3 days since Chase came back, but without Delaynee. It was a pretty shock to us. Delaynee gave a pretty bland message to Chase to give to us.

"She said that she would send some video explaining everything." Chase said when he got home.

Everyone was so happy to see Chase, not trying to kill or kidnap anyone in the family, but their focus was on Delaynee.

"Why on Earth would she want to stay with MY BROTHER?!?" Davenport said, with fury in his eyes.

Obviously Davenport couldn't see anything good in this situation. Not even considering that Chase was back and that was really good.

"Is it possible she made some sort of trade with Douglas?" Bree asked.

"No, my brother was never a man of reason." Davenport added.

Davenport had invisible smoke coming out of his ears.

"Well he did save my life. And sent me back." Chase included.

"Well honey, we'll just have to see what Delaynee says." Tasha added in, trying to comfort Davenport.

3 days later, this video still hadn't been delivered and Davenport was getting impatient.

We could see it at the first family dinner on the 6th day.

When all of us were having fun and chatting, he was silent. His rage towards his brother turned into radio silence.

"Hey Big D, got anything exciting going on for Davenport Industries?" I asked, trying to squeeze a few things out of him. He loved talking about himself

"Um, nothing much." He said sadly.

EVEN HIS EGO WOULDN'T MAKE HIM TALK! In any other scenario, Big D would've been blabbing until midnight.

He stayed silent the rest of the dinner.

There was some chatter after that, but everyone knew there was an elephant in the room, and it was named Delaynee.

The dinner eventually came to a stop.

"Hey kids, help clean the dishes?" My mom asked.

In an instant Bree was running around the table picking up dishes and super speeding to the sink that Adam was heating up the water with his lazer vision. Once Bree washed them, Adam dried and Chase put them away with his telekenisis.

"This is so nice!" My mom squealed.

Once everything was put away, we all gathered around the TV to watch a movie.

We found the movie "Anchorman 2" on Netflix. We thought the comedy of Will Ferrell would help our somber souls, but it didn't help.

About half way through, Netflix started buffering.

"I thought your friend down at Netflix made sure our stuff wouldn't buffer." Tasha said to Donald.

"I don't know, that's weird." Mr. Davenport questioned, which was the most he'd said in the last 2 hours.

Then the TV turned to static, causing everyone to get a little nervous.

"Why are there ants on TV?" Adam asked.

Before we could explain to Adam what the "ants" were. A familiar face popped up. One we'd been all waiting for.

"Before y'all go yelling at the screen, I have it set to where I cannot see you." Delaynee started.

Well there goes that plan.

"As you might know, I have decided to stay with Douglas. This isn't because I don't love you. I am doing this because I love you. Douglas has sworn to be good, so that I'll stay. I am doing this to protect you." Delaynee said

"Things in my new life are going to be different. Starting with my bionics. I have made the executive decision to get rid of them completely. I can't have a normal life if I can charge someone's phone in seconds with my plasma electricity. This is completely my decision.

We could see Douglas enter the screen. From where he entered, he must've been manning the camera.

"It's true. I tried to convince her other wise, but she WOULDN'T STOP TALKING! " Douglas said, before Delaynee shooed him out.

"Ok, your moment in the spotlight is done." Delaynee said.

You could just see this spark of relationship. A relationship of a daughter and father. In that 10 seconds, I could see that spark. Not a fire, just a spark.

"Ok, what was I saying, before I was interrupted." Delaynee said, getting louder at the end to make sure Douglas heard.

"One other major decision I made...." She stopped.

She got a look of worry and hesitance across her face. Whatever she was going to say next, wouldn't be easy.

Delaynee's face set back to a calmer expression and we all eagerly awaited what she had to say.

"I've chosen to erase my memories. This is not anything personal, but I feel if I want to start a new life, I shouldn't remember the old one." Delaynee announced

The room was silent. Dead silent.

"What?!?" Bree exclaimed. Not in a happy, surprised way, but in a flat toned shocked way.

"It's just, I want to be normal, but I'm not. For most of my life, I was in a cage. Like an animal. Being protected from something I didn't even know about."

"So this is goodbye. I don't know where my new life will lead me, but... I hope freedom is as good as you described it." Delaynee spoke and then the movie clicked back onto the screen.

"She chose my brother." Davenport muttered under his breathe.

The movie kept playing, but none of us listened. All of us were just shell shocked.

"Great. I just lost the only sister I'll ever have. It was probably because of two buffoons named Adam and Chase." Bree harshly said and shot a glare at Chase.

"Or maybe that "SISTER" wasn't a good sister at all. After all, she robbed her of her first shopping experience." Chase bit back.

"I know it wasn't me. At least I didn't just see her as a person on my side of the army. I saw her as a human being who just wanted to be normal." Adam joined in

In addition to the smoke coming out Big D's ear, Adam & Bree & Chase were big contributors to the steam pollution.

"Now I'm stuck with nobody on my side. Yes, I'll admit. I just wanted someone to be there for me when I had to be around you idiots. At least I'm not the traitor who kidnapped her. The person who started it." Bree said.

"We all kidnapped her in the beginning. That's how we got her! Congratulations to all of us for committing the perfect crime. Delaynee is obviously not going to the police." Chase said.

I had enough of this. I saw that Delaynee was pained by saying what she said in the video, but she wouldn't have done it for a wrong reason.

"Because she's happy." I added on to Chase's remark.

"What?!" Adam, Bree and Chase said in unison. They all scoffed in disbelief to me.

You wouldn't know how many times that happens to me.

"She's free. That's all she ever wanted was to have freedom, go to school, BE NORMAL!" I pointed out.

"That's all she ever wanted." I repeated, but quieter. It was really more for me.

I walked out after I said that. It was one of the moments where I would drop a microphone if I had one. I more dropped an atomic bomb. The bomb of realization. Realization of that they were all at fault.

But I wanted to fix my fault.
