The next morning..

I woke up hearing laughter from downstairs. I get up trying not to wake up Daniel. I walk downstairs and see Isabella with 2 random guys. One with blonde hair and another with brown hair.

Mia: Umm hey Isabella.

Isabella: Oh. Good morning Mia.

Mia: Who are these people?

Isabella: This is Sam and this is Colby. I met them last night. Sam and Colby..this is Mia.

Colby and I made eye contact. There was a connection. Not like a loving connection but like a heart warming connection.

Sam: Hey.

Colby: Hey

Mia: So how did you meet them?

Isabella: I was in an abandoned building and I ran into them. How's the baby?

Mia: She's been good so far.

Colby: Someone's a mommy?

Mia: Soon to be. My boyfriend is more excited then me.

Sam: That's exciting.

Mia: Yeah. Anyway...imma go and lay in the sun. Try and tan.

Isabella: Okay. Have fun.

I go outside and lay in a chair by the pool. After a while, I hear someone sit by me. I look up and see Colby.

Mia: Can I help you?

Colby: Nope.

Mia: I have a boyfriend so don't think anything is gonna happen.

Colby: You just remind me of someone that's all.

Mia: Oh. So where you from?

Colby: Kansas but Sam and I moved out to LA a while back. But tell me about you.

Mia: Oh okay. Umm I'm adopted and really don't know where I born. In my adopted family I have a brother named Mason who's a doctor or at least in medical school.

Colby: Wow. I had a baby sister but she was with me for 2 weeks when I was 4 and then they said they gave her up. You remind a lot of her.

Mia: Really?

Colby: Yeah. I have a picture of me and her when she was born.

He pulls a photo out and shows me. He was so cute as a baby.

Mia: Wow. I really wish I knew about me.

Colby: How about we go to the courthouse and we found out.

Mia: Really?

Colby: Let's go.

We get up and get into his Toyota Corolla. We drive for a while before we get to the courthouse. We wait in a line before we get to the counter.

Mia: Hello, I was wondering if I could get some adoption papers for Mia Hernandez?

Lady: Sure. One minute.

The lady hands us a folder and we sit down.

Colby: Are you ready?

Mia: No..

I open the folder and start to read it. My face drops and I'm so shocked.

Mia: I was born in Kansas. And my last name is..Brock..

Colby: Wait..that's my last name.

Mia: You're kidding right?

Colby: No. I'm serious..are you my sister?
