I decide to pick up my room. The lakelander war finally ended. I'm going to be an advisor for a monster that is my brother. Will I be okay with seeing Mare, with him? I don't know.

Packing up all of it, kind of hurts.
The Barrows come to see me.
"Hey, Cal. You almost ready to go?" Gisa asks.
"Um, yea. Let's go,"

Instead of a jet, we go on just in a car like thing. Nobody sits next to me, they all sit on the other side of the transport. I see the palace I once called home far off. We get closer every second.

"Brother," I greet.
"Cal," Maven waves
"Mare!!" All of the Barrows scream.
"Mom! Dad!" They all hug her.
"So, how have you been Maven?"
"I've been pretty good Cal."
Mare walks over and stands at Mavens side, guards walk Mares Family to the apartments.
"Cal," Mare breathes and smiles.
"Mare,"
She hugs me for a second to long, a muscle moves in Maven's cheek.
"How has the pregnancy gone?" I ask.
"Rough but I'm okay."

Maven pulls me aside as we walk. "I swear, touch her and I will kill you."
"Maven, she chose you for a reason. She, she doesn't love me."
"Good."
"Has, she been okay? Was she lying to me?" I ask.
Maven puts a hand on my shoulder and hugs me.
"She has been fine, you know I wouldn't allow her to be harmed."
"Thank you, Mavey."
He chuckles.
"You have some competition Brother," He smiles.
I quirk an eyebrow.
"Mare calls me Mavey too," He chuckles again.
"I might have to copyright that," I smile. We walk to catch up with the group.

I get branched off to my old room, I don't know why I get to, but I guess okay? I'm glad Farley and Kilorn waited to come. They still don't like the sight of Maven and Mare. Maven told me it's been seven months now. Two until I have a niece and nephew.
"Cal?"
"Mare? Oh, come in."
Mare comes in and sits on a chair in a corner.
"Whatever, you thought we had, It can't and won't be real."
I nod, "Sadly, I know."
"I hope we can still talk. I loved when we talked like friends. Like a thief and a hidden prince," She still remembers the night we met.
"I'm sorry for dragging you into this,"
"Please never be, Cal, you gave me the opportunity to find my lightning-" She lets sparks dance in her hands. "- I might not have ever found that side of me. Thank you, thank you so much."
I nod and she leaves.

I swear I will have you Mare.
My brother will not get in my way.
