Home sweet home

"Kaidyn!" I screamed while I was struggling to hold all these heavy boxes in front of the locked door of our new house. "Kaidyn, hurry up! I'm gonna drop all the boxes if you don't get your ass over here and unlock the door now!" I screamed again. "Alright, alright. I'm hurrying!" Kaidyn said while running with the key in hand. She slid past me, put the key in the door and opened it for me. I struggled inside and dropped all the boxes on the floor once I was in. There was nothing valuable or breakable in them. Just clothes. "Finally!" I said while I was still trying to catch my breath. "Yeah home sweet home." Kaidyn said with a smirk on her face and planting her hands on her hips.

Kaidyn's been my best friend since we were in diapers. We've had our ups and downs just like everyone does. Except we always pull through. When we were little, the other kids used to make fun of her because she has a boys name. "Kaidyn" is pronounced just like "Caden" so the kids would always say she's secretly a boy. When she obviously wasn't. I always thought she was one of the prettiest girls in our entire class. I would like to think of my self as very defensive about the people I love. So I would stand up for her. I even punched one of the boys in the nose and made him bleed. They stopped after that.

She has long blonde hair just like me. She has brown eyes and I have blue eyes. Our moms would sometimes even get confused between the two of us from behind. We would sometimes switch clothes and make them pick out the right one between the two of us. We would always get people asking if we were sisters. We would normally say yes to that question. We enjoyed the idea of having each other as a sister. Anyways, Kaidyn is about an inch or two taller than me now.

"Ariel!" I heard Kaidyn yell from downstairs; interrupting my thoughts. I came upstairs to bring my clothes into my new room. Kaidyn let me have the master bed room because I have more furniture than her. I'm a writer and a design artist so I have this huge desk and shelves for all my writing and drawing utensils. "Ariel! Come on! I need help bringing the couch in!" Kaidyn screamed again. "Alright I'm coming!" I yelled back and ran down the stairs. She was waiting for me the open door. "Come on let's get the couch out of the truck." She said and clapped her hands once and turned and went out the door. I followed her out into the blazing hot LA sun. Kaidyn hopped into the truck and got behind the one side of the couch and I grabbed the other side. "Ready. Set. LIFT!" Kaidyn said and let out a big breath trying to lift the one side.  I did the same and it didn't move an inch. "Hey! need some help?" A voice called from behind. It was definitely a male and had an accent. British I think. I turned to see who it was and I was blinded for a second by the sun again. Two boys were coming towards us. One with waved spiky brown hair. And one with curly darker hair. They were both tatted and muscle toned. They were pretty sexy. I turned to Kaidyn to see if she could see them too. She looked back at me and lifted an eyebrow with a smirk. I smiled back at her and giggled. I turned back to the boys as they came closer.

"Need some help?" The one with the lighter hair asked. He had a British accent too. He didn't sound like the voice that yelled at us so I assumed that was the one with the curly hair. They were both smirking at us and waiting for a response from us. I turned to Kaidyn quickly and she was practically drooling over them. Which means I'll have to do the talking. "Umm... Yeah. Sure." I said with a smile. "Great. Well, I'm Liam." The one with the lighter hair said. "And I'm Harry." The one with the Curly hair said, and let off a wink in my direction. "I'm Ariel and this is my best friend Kaidyn." I said and gestured in Kaidyn's direction when I introduced her. Kaidyn used the flirty fingers wave when her name was announced. Liam nodded in her direction with a smile. They both looked back at me. "Oh right well, you can just bring it right through the door and into the first room on the left." I said with a smile and got out of their way. Kaidyn jumped out of the truck and Liam gave out his hand to help her down. She took his offer of course, even though it was like 2 feet from the ground. Who wouldn't? He's hot.

Harry kept staring at me I noticed. Liam jumped in the back of truck and lifted it with no sign of struggling at all. Harry lifted it up just as easily. They're biceps were just... I can't even. Was it getting hotter out here? I tore my eyes away from the boys and looked over at Kaidyn next to me. She was biting her lip and wouldn't take her eyes off of them.

After they got inside, we followed behind them into the living room. "Where do you want it?" Harry asked. "Umm.. How about right at the wall across from the fire place." I said pointing at the wall I was referring to. "Alright." Liam retorted. They set it down slowly and turned back to us. It was getting pretty late already. The clock read 5:14 pm on my iPhone. It's about dinner time. "Can we help you with any other furniture?" Liam asked. "I think that'll be good for today. It's about time for us to get something to eat. But thanks so much for your help!" I said with appreciation and a smile. I could see Kaidyn letting out a pout in the corner of my eye. "Well can we give our numbers for when you need help again?" Harry asked. "Yeah. Sure." I replied. We exchanged phone numbers between the four of us and they left.

"They. Were. So. Cute!" Kaidyn let out as soon as the door closed behind them. "Yes. I know." I said and ran my fingers through my hair. "But remember our deal. No boys while we're in school. They're too much of a distraction." I reminded her with my eye brows raised looking at her. "Yeah Ariel I know." She said back to me and put her hands on my shoulder reassuring me. I have a bad history with a relationship during high school. I almost didn't make it through. If Kaidyn hadn't helped me through it and encouraged me. Yeah.. it was pretty bad. "Ariel. You know I won't let you fall so hard so fast again, right?" She asked with concern. "Yeah I would hope so." I said with a smile. She turned and ran upstairs a with a box in hand. I just slumped into the couch and closed my eyes for a while. We have our first day of college tomorrow.
