I flutter my eyes open to the bright California sun. Today's the day that my mom leaves to go back home. I thought it would be the day that my mom and Cameron leaves. Guess he will be sticking around longer than I had hoped. But it's also the day Kaidyn comes back home.
I wonder where Cameron is going today? Or is he staying here? Or maybe he already has a hotel booked. I hope so. I don't want him staying here any longer.
There's a knock at my door and in walks my mother. "Good morning sweetheart. How are you?"
"I'm good mom. I'm really going to miss you though. I wish you could have stayed longer." I tell her. I really do wish she could have stayed longer. I know how much she loves the beach and the warm weather. But my dad just doesn't think it's a great place to live.
"Well, I really like that Harry of yours. He's definitley a keeper sweetie. Just don't let him come between you and your friends. Such as Kaidyn and... Cameron of course." She eased her way into saying Camerons name. She knows he's definitley a sensitive subject right now.
"Okay mom." Is all I can say. I can't tell her that won't happen for Cameron, because she doesn't know how he is.
"So how about I make you my famous pancakes for old times sake?" She asks me with a bright smile and clapping her hands once.
I chuckle before answering her. "That sounds great mom." Her "famous" pancakes consists of pre-made ingredients in a box and just adding water.
"Great! Let's go then. You don't need to get dressed. That defeats the purpose of the 'old times.'" Back home I would just walk to the kitchen in whatever I slept in without doing anything to prepare myself. All I cared about was getting food into my stomach.
I ripped the covers from my body and stood up to follow her out the door and down the stairs. I was wearing my usual choice of sleep wear. Short cotton shorts and a light loose cami, my hair up in a messy pony tail. I must look like hell right now but I'm not trying to impress anybody.
Once we reach the kitchen, Cameron is perched on the counter taking a bite into an apple. Of course he's only wearing his boxers. That's how he always slept when I was with him or he was with me. Nothing has changed in that department. His hair is all over the place and his eyes are still a little red. Also something that was normal for him when he just wakes up.
"Good morning Cameron." My mom greets him and he shoots his head up in our direction.
"Good morning ladies." He half smiles with chewed up apple on one side of his cheek. He swallows it down and sets the apple down before walking over to me.
"Can I talk to you for just a second please? It's kind of important." He asks me. His eyes poor into mine as he pleads with me. What could he want now?
"Yeah sure. Let's just go into the living room." I say with a half smile. My mother turns to the cupboards to pull out the box of pancake mix.
Once we reach the living room I seat myself at the couch and he sits down next to me. His eyes wander all up and down my body, and I start to feel incredibly insecure.
"I miss seeing you like this too." He half laughs and I roll my eyes and cross my arms over my chest.
"Shut up. I know I look like crap. We aren't together anymore, so you can tell me when I look gross. You don't have to lie to me and say I don't look like crap." I say.
"I didn't say you looked good or bad. I simply said I missed seeing you like this. But yeah, I'm not gonna lie. You do look like crap." He stops to chuckle to himself before continuing his verbal assault. "But it's like a good crap. Like a cute crap. You make crap look cute." He says and starts laughing at his own stupid remarks.
