Chapter 35

“Oh my god.” I whispered.

We were heading closer and closer towards the trees. The plane soared rapidly, but on the inside you could feel it. We started hearing gasps and cries from the other sections of the plane. Derek quickly set me down and looked around frantically for a solution. Everyone ran around to try and find an exit or a way out.

Here i was again, standing around, being useless.

Shut up, you’re pregnant

I looked around at Derek who was glaring at me. I then actually took in his words and looked at my stomach. The baby. Im so stupid; we need to get off this plane, like now.

“Chloe, where are you?” My aunt called.

“Im here.” I yelled.

She calmly walked over and placed a hand on my lower back, guiding me towards Derek, and Simon.

“I need you to stay with them, I'm gonna find the rest.” She started walking away.

“Wait, where are you going?” I screamed. She didn’t respond and just kept sprinting through the crowds of panicking people.

I tried advancing in, so i could find my aunt again, but two arms held me back.

“Chloe, you have to stay here.” Simon said.

“No, i have to help find my aunt and the rest.” I argued and gave another tug at my arms to be set free; but they were both securely held in Derek and Simon’s hands. I was about to protest once more, but the plane started shaking and rocking back and forth, causing us to topple over.

It would have been a hard fall, but Derek made sure i fell on top of him before hitting anything else. Screams and cries were heard all over the plane; but what really stood out was the burning metal.

I wanted to scream at the moment, but my mouth felt dry and fuzzy and i felt like i couldn't swallow. My heart immediately started racing and my palms felt sweaty and wet. I tried standing up, but i felt a sharp edging pain in my left thigh.

I tried my best to look down and examine my leg, and almost gagged at the sight. There were shards of broken champaign bottles sticking out of my flesh. Crimson blood stained the carpet, the metallic scent made me nauseous with one glimpse.

Pain consumed my entire body, it was like i was paralyzed and couldn't manage to get myself to get up. I heard the faint cries for help and the terrified pleas of death to come fast. My leg felt like it was burning, it didn’t help with the smell either.

“Chloe, come on, get up.” Derek coughed. He picked me up and had to hold me against his body or else i would've collapsed back on the floor.

“I can't, my leg.” He followed my gaze to my leg and his eyes widened when he caught a look at it.
