Christen began to work on Connor and I called Evan towards me.

"Brant, I talked with Christen, about Kam and-" I began.

Evan stuck out his arm, turning off the skin. "Here. Connect with me. Let me just see it."

"Why?" I asked.

"I'm a behavioral analyst. I can determine lies or if she's leaving anything out," he explained.

"I suppose that's true," I said. I looked over to Connor, Hank, and Christen. Christen was knee deep in figuring out his code, Connor was almost passed out, and Hank had his hand on his shoulder. He was watching Christen intensely. "Maybe after this. Later."

I watched as Hank had his hand gently on Kyle's leash. "Y'know with you guys taking care of Blueberry, maybe I can take Kyle?" Hank offered. I looked as Kyle pressed his head gently into Connor's leg. I swear that Nick has turned that dog into a therapy dog more than a police dog.

"I think it'll be fine. I mean Blueberry practically thinks of Kyle as her best friend," I sighed.

"I guess you're right. Kyle has never met Sumo," Hank nodded.

Hank and Nick's relationship still hasn't been repaired yet. After all of this time, they're still standoffish. Christmas presents that are well-meaning, and politely working together, but they're nothing like the best friends they were before Hank's son died. Nick always asks me how Hank's doing when Connor and I go over there for dinner. Hank always asks me how Nick's doing when Connor and I go over there for dinner.

Nick always felt like his relationship with Hank was a lot like the one he had with his own dad. They love each other, but probably shouldn't be in the same room for too long or else they might start arguing. I don't know about that though. Nick still invited him to his wedding, and he came. Nick didn't even invite his parents.

The whole reason Nick couldn't work with him was because of his alcoholism, but Hank's been sober for almost a full year now. Nick will still barely talk to him though. Hank's really cleaned himself up. Still looks messy, but he acts a lot better now. I don't think Connor would let him go back even if he tried.

Brant started tapping my shoulder again. "I need to see this conversation," He said.

"Just wait a moment," I answered.

"Oh, c'mon. It'll just take a second," Brant answered.

"Sorry. I should focus on this," I said, turning towards Connor.

"Charlotte, it will take 3 seconds. I need to know now so we can investigate this case," Brant explained.

I sighed. I turned back towards him, pulled up my sleeve and turned off my skin.

Connecting...

Connecting...

Connecting...

Connected. Transferring memory...

God, I hate that process. It feels so invasive. Brant looked satisfied though.

"She's hiding something. I think we should go to Kam's home," Brant answered. I looked over at Connor who was still out of it.

"Alright," I answered Brant. I headed over next to Connor and knelt down next to him.

"I think we're getting close," Christen said, adjusting her glasses. "I've only done this on CRs, and some other models. It's very unique that this is happening on...well...Connor, of all people."

"It was another RK who did this to him. I don't know how they managed it," I explained.

"Hmm," Christen answered. She didn't look too confused so much as acknowledging it. I turned to Brant who nodded as if it only confirmed his theory that we should head to Kam's home. I held Connor's left hand as Christen continued to work.
