We disconnected and it became clear what Ethan heard during his interview with Spencer. During that time that Connie was out, those two years, they lived with an individual named Asher Kam who eventually committed suicide right before Connie woke up. It was investigated as a murder, and police believed that two androids had committed it, which put Spencer and Asher on the run. Asher took his name, and Spencer and him never told Connie about what happened.

"Does that mean we should find investigate this Asher Kam guy? Or at least...who he was?" I asked.

"The case on him went cold 3 years ago, so the files aren't online anymore. I'll have to head to the DPD archives. It'll take a while to pull them. How about we call it a day for now?" Ethan asked.

"Alright. Good idea," I nodded.

"You could always come with me. We could stop for coffee and..."

"I really need to get back to Connor. I shouldn't have left in the first place, Ethan. But I appreciate the offer."

"In the first place? You're under no obligation to him," Ethan said.

"Uh...yes I am," I said showcasing my wedding ring. "I mean this means we have to be there for one another."

"You don't even wear it," Ethan sighed. I looked at my hand and sure enough I've still failed to get it from Connor.

"I do. I was just...undercover," I sighed.

"You know, not even Android marriages have to be perfect."

"I also know I don't need a marriage counselor, Ethan," I asserted.

"All I'm saying I'd give yourself some leeway. Do what you want to do," he shrugged.

"You haven't known me for a full day. I'd appreciate it if you kept yourself out of my relationship."

"Alright, you're right. I'll cool it. I just, you know, want the best for you," Ethan shrugged.

"That's admirable," I sighed. He just nodded, and finally shut up. We took the elevator down and I took the taxi over to Hank's. I just want to see my husband at this point. Even if I feel uncomfortable about what just happened up there...I just want to see him.

I walked up to the door and knocked, and Connor walked out. He immediately gave me a hug and kissed my cheek. "Come on. We're talking a case," He said. He took my hand and led me in. Hank was sitting on the couch, looking through files, and gently petting Sumo.

"Paper files? Did it go cold?" I asked, sitting down in a chair, as Connor tried to regain his seat. Kyle had snuggled against Sumo

"Fowler wants us to try this cold case since our last cases have gone so well," Connor explained. "But this trail is truly cold."

"Sounds like fun. I will just sit over here for the next several months dealing with Ethan," I sighed.

"How did that go anyway?" Hank asked.

"It went...technically alright," I answered. I elected not to explain everything that had happened.

"Technically?" Connor asked. "I do not like him."

I chuckled. "I know ya don't."

Kyle must've noticed my voice because he got up and jumped onto my lap. I held him close. "Precious boy," I whispered.

"For someone who didn't want a dog, you surely do love them," Connor laughed.

"You were right," I shrugged. He looked a little bit excited.

"About the dog. Not the kids," I explained. Connor sighed.

"Wait a second, you two are talking kids?" Hank jumped in.

"A little bit," I answered.

"A lotta bit," Connor smiled.

Hank rolled his eyes and sat back. "You two are too much. But I think you could do it. Between the two of you, a kid ain't so bad," Hank shrugged. Connor looked at me.

"That's your dad. Not mine. Don't look at me," I said. Connor chuckled. I felt a little better that he was laughing it off instead of last time, where we launched into such an argument I felt like both of us wanted to escape that car.

We sat around for a little while as Connor and Hank discussed their case. I tried to pick up on the details. The murder of a family back several years ago, that went cold almost immediately after people started looking into it. It was dark, but Connor was deeply interested in it.

The moment we left, however, the smile slipped from Connor's face. "Why did you leave me with Hank? Why did you go with Ethan?"

"I was this case done and over as soon as possible. I wasn't trying to leave you alone," I shrugged.

"I never said alone," Connor glared. "So you know how it made me feel then?"

"Yes, Connor," I sighed, calling the taxi.

"So, do you just not care?"

"Can we not do this today?" I asked, approaching the curb, keeping my eye on Kyle.

"Fine. But when will we do it? When you finally feel like it?"

"Listen, Connor, I don't like Ethan either. I don't like the way things are going with him either, but we're stuck here a little bit," I complained.

"Fine."

"Fine?"

"Yes. Fine."
