Nick and I entered back into the apartment and Hank had disappeared.

"I didn't want him to leave. I'm worried he's going to relapse. Nick, can you stay with him tonight?" Connor asked jumping up.

"Uhhh," Nick stammered. He stopped, and must've realized how important it was to Connor that Hank stayed sober. "I'll head over there."

"Thanks," Connor smiled. "He almost killed me for offering him the guest room here."

"I gotcha kid," Nick winked. He turned around and left, giving me a little pat on the shoulder. I shut the door behind me.

"I'm going to Jericho tomorrow," I nodded.

"Oh, sounds great!"

"Do you want to come?" I offered.

"I...well, I absolutely can," Connor sighed.

"Is something wrong?" I asked approaching him slowly.

"No. Nothings wrong," Connor smiled, a little too softly.

"Something is," I questioned.

"It's not wrong. Nothings wrong. I guess I'm just happy things are back to normal," He chuckled.

"Normal...not quite. But almost," I answered.

Connor patted the seat next to him and I sat down. He pulled me close to his chest, and wrapped his arms around me. "This will help," He ordered. I giggled a little. It absolutely did help. He cuddled me just like that for at first, half an hour, but we admired the moment where the world was at peace, and needed it a little longer. By little I mean much. Hours went by, and the sun even slowly rose into the sky. But we stayed put. We had to go to Jericho, but not yet. We had time we could spend, right here, and right now. Surely, we are going to use it.

When the sun had seemingly settled into position, and it was morning, I got up and immediately got into the shower. We may be androids, and we may not sweat, but it's still nice to smell good. Connor followed in immediately after I got out. I quickly fixed up my hair and headed to my closet. Alike Nick, I had picked up a habit of for the most part constantly wearing the same thing. Really any time I was going to work, I always wore a brown trench coat, a black turtleneck, and high waisted jeans. All tied together, of course, with brown formal shoes, and my wedding ring.

Today, however, I put on something different. To be honest, different was necessary right now. So, I pulled on a green long sleeved top, and black pants. It wasn't much, but it was enough to distinguish myself from my every day look.

I waited for Connor to get dressed, of course, in a suit (I can't exactly criticize him). When he did, he turned to me. "So, Charlotte. What are we going here for?"

"Markus has been trying to get me to work for Jericho for years now-"

"And we remember how that went the first time?"

"We do...but things are different now. Jericho is bigger, it's different. I want a different role, and I kinda...don't just want to be solving crimes anymore," I explained shrugging.

"But that's like your thing?" Connor asked, sitting down.

"With all due respect, Connor, it's your thing," I answered. "I love it, and I always have...but with everything that just happened...I don't feel like I can do it again. At least not like that."

"So...you're going to go lead Jericho's military or whatever?" Connor asked, seeming just a little bit irritated.

"No...that's not what it's like. You know, North designs the defenses and pretty much negotiates everything with the Feds. She's like this sort of secretary of state type. I kind of want to be this attorney general type. You know, design the justice system there and get it working effectively. Markus thought I can do it, and I think I can to," I nodded. Connor looked down at his shoes.

"I'm sorry. I'm still upset I can't work with my wife. It feels like I just got you back and you want to leave again," Connor sighed.

"I know. I'm sorry," I apologized. He pulled me in for a kiss, and gently touched my face.

"Don't apologize. Life moves on, but at the end of the day, I'm your husband. Life moves on with us together. Even if we're apart," He whispered. I smiled softly, and kissed him again gently.

"Don't make me get all sappy. I gotta be a hard ass in here," I chuckled. He smiled, and planted another kiss on my lips.

"I'll do as I please," he answered.

I jumped up, getting into a defensive stance. "No way, buddy. No way. You won't be getting me today," I announced, firmly planting my right foot in front of my left.

He stood up, perfectly postured and stared at me. I was crouched and looked more like a spider, while he looked more like an eloquent business man. He simply shook his head and left the room. I smiled, stood up, and readjusted myself, following right behind him.
