The rest of the weekend was eventful to say the least.
As you can guess, I tended to AJ because I couldn't just leave him there borderline unconscious on my floor, nor could I let him drive home like that.
I'm not sure what ended up happening with him having Kyle's car, especially since AJ didn't end up leaving until the next morning.
As for Omar, we hadn't spoken since that day and I really didn't expect him to speak to me, but I was also hoping that he wouldn't be mad at me for what had happened because it wasn't my fault. Who knew AJ was that much of an asshole.
I had an entire day pretty much to think about everything that had happened, but surprisingly enough, I woke up today with the same feeling that I had when everything had happened today. The only difference, we had school.
I took my time pulling myself outside of bed, brushing past the spot on my bed where first Omar and then AJ slept.
I dragged myself down the hallway, noticing that my mom wasn't here as always. If you've been wondering, her job has unpredictable hours and she also liked going out so it was rare that she was ever home and if she was, it wasn't long. I'd gotten used to not seeing her often and being home alone.
I checked my phone and it was almost 8 which meant that I had about 30 minutes to get to school. I sighed, finally making my way to the bathroom to get my life together. That usually took about 15-20 minutes alone but I managed to do it in only 10.
I dragged my feet as I headed back to my room, really not wanting to go to school today. I wasn't sure if it was because I was tired or if I was just afraid of what might happen with everyone in school again together. And to make things worse, we all had the same lunch periods.
I called my Uber before heading over to my closet and grabbing a random sweatsuit because it was just that kind of day. It wasn't going to take me long to get dressed and I didn't want to be sitting around waiting for my Uber.
Luckily, it was arriving soon. I grabbed my charger and headphones before throwing them into my already packed book bag and heading downstairs. I was upset to see that someone else had joined the ride.
I removed my headphones from my bag and placed them in my ears before I left out of the house so that I could ignore whoever else was in the car.
I approached the black Honda with slightly tinted windows and made my way to the backseat on the passenger's side.
"Good morning", the driver greeted me and I only sent him a head nod back.
"Jalen?!" I heard a shocked voice.
I glanced out of my peripheral vision to see that it was AJ. I just couldn't escape him could I? At this point, it was feeling like more of a sign than a coincidence that I shouldn't be avoiding him. But it was in fact him that was avoiding me to begin with. This was all so confusing to me.
"Hey" I let out dryly and turned my attention back to my phone, finding random things to do on it so that I didn't have to look up from it.
I assume that AJ caught the hint that I wasn't in the mood to talk because he didn't say anything else to me. I'd occasionally glance at him from the corner of my eye to see what he was doing. He was usually on his phone or staring out of the window.
We arrived to the school in no time. I purposely took my time getting my things even though my phone was already in my hand and all I had to do was grab my book bag.
I for some reason didn't want to be seen entering the school with Andre. He didn't waste no time getting out and heading into the school which I was thankful for. Now all I had to do was get through this day without any mishaps.
