Suspended..
The principal's raspy, yet stern voice continued to play in my head.
I didn't listen to anything else he had to say before grabbing my backpack and standing to exit his office.
I could hear what sounded like him calling after me faintly, but I was too engulfed in my thoughts at the I moment to comprehend anything.
I dragged myself to the boys bathroom to wipe my face of its tear stained surface and recollect myself.
I ran some water over my face and couldn't bring myself to go back to class after what had just happened so I sat there for a while thinking.
This whole feeling was new to me. I was always the A student; the one who was almost always in school, did all of their work and avoided trouble at all costs.
After my first encounter with AJ, I could sense myself becoming more rebellious. I had even trusted him enough to let him take my virginity which I still wasn't sure if I regretted or not.
I didn't understand why it was only AJ and I in the principal's office as of four of us weren't involved in the fight.
I pulled out my phone so that I could call my mother, not knowing how she would react. I flinched each time the phone rang in my ear, fearing the moment it was replaced with her voice.
Why are you calling me? Shouldn't you be in school I finally heard.
I sighed. "Mom, I need you to come get me. I'm suspended" I said, just to get it over with.
For what? Her voice grew louder.
"Fighting" I said, almost as a question.
Well did you win? Her voice was once again mellow. I swear this woman was so bipolar.
"Yes" I said dryly.
She let out a sigh before telling me that she had to go and we'd talk when she got home.
Suspensions at my school only lasted three days, which meant that I had to wait til Friday to come back since they didn't count the day you got suspended.

I spent the remainder of the day in the bathroom or walking around the halls of the schools, mostly during classes so that I could limit the amount of people who saw me.
I had already gotten everything that I needed out of my locker. All that was left was for the school bell to ring so I could make my way home.
I had completely lost track of time at a point and when the school bell rang, I was almost on the opposite side of the school of where I wanted to be.
I quickly made my way toward that exit with my head down, trying to avoid all gazes.
Just as I was about to make it through the exit, Aaron stopped me.
"Yo, what happened? You got sent to the principal's office and I ain't see you for the rest of the day."
I let out a sigh, debating on whether or not I'd tell Aaron what had happened. I honestly was not in the mood for any of his judgmental comments at the moment.
"I got suspended" I mumbled, still trying to make my way out.
Aaron has positioned himself in front of me so that I couldn't go anywhere.
