"No, you're a cheater, I don't care, I won, oh well" I ranted annoyingly over Omar's voice. All he could do was laugh.

As you may have guessed, he beat me. Every single time.

Outside of me being a sore loser, we had a lot of fun for the most part and had completely lost track of time. By the time we had finally decided to leave, school was out. Not like I had any intentions of going back anyways.

"I'll beat you to the car!" I shouted before quickly and unexpectedly taking off in the direction of where he had parked.

I won't get into any details, but somehow he still managed to beat me.

"Still a cheater" I mumbled as he closed my door and jogged around to his side of the car.

He was still laughing when he got into the car, but I didn't see what was funny about what I had said. "Nah, but for real, I had fun shawty. You ready to go home or would you like to get something to eat first?"

I don't even know why he asked. "I mean, I could eat" I replied, trying to sound nonchalant, but knowing that it didn't come off that way.

"Aight, well where would you like to go?"

I sat quietly for a brief moment, thinking of all of the possibilities. I could just have him take my to a drive thru and straight home, but I'd come to realize that I actually liked spending time with Omar. I guess it's true when people say don't knock it until you try it.

"We can go to that little diner downtown and eat. I still have yet to go."

"Cool." He put the car in drive and began to pull out of the parking lot. The car ride started off uncomfortably silent, so I turned up the volume on the radio and began to nod my head to the beat of whatever song this was.

I was interrupted by the sound of the radio being turned off. "I..actually thought..maybe we could get to know each other a little more" Omar stumbled through his words, looking between me and the road.

I wasn't really as open to the idea as I could've been, but I decided it would be helpful to learn more about the boy I was now considering giving a chance.

"Ok, well what would you like to know" I started.

"Ummm..I mean, I don't really know much about you at all outside of what I've acquired from school. Just start off with the basics I guess."

I didn't really know where to began so I just began to speak, letting my mind do the rest.

"Well, I'm an only child. I only live with my mother. My dad doesn't live with us anymore. I wouldn't call him a deadbeat or anything because I still see him and he still takes care of his fatherly duties, him and my mom just aren't together anymore.

"My best friend as you probably know is Aaron. Umm, my favorite color is red. I like money, food and clothes. I come off very rude, but I'm actually very nice once you get to know me.."

"You don't say" I heard Omar chuckle under his breath.

"Okay, well I guess it's your turn" I say, unconsciously smiling at his smart remark.

"Aight, well I live with just my mom as well. I actually don't know my dad. I have a younger sister and brother who actually happen to be twins. My favorite color is blue. I don't really do much, I'm usually in the house if I'm not in school.

I'm pretty much an introvert which might be surprising with all of the times I've tried to get you. Something about you just sparks my interest and the rejection only made me want you more because I like a challenge." He sent a smirk and a wink my way with his last sentence.

I blushed at the thought of someone actually wanting to pursue me the way he does.

"But let's cut to the chase" he continued. "What made you finally want to go out with me." Though the words escaped his lips seductively, they seemed to spit venom at me.

The truth was that I thought he'd be a good initial distraction from AJ. But now, I actually didn't regret going out with him. I didn't want to be honest though, I couldn't.

"To tell you the truth, I just like to try new things." I sent as genuine of a smile as I could which seemed to work. "Speaking of, how far are we away from the diner?" I asked, before he could even question what I had said before.

"We're actually pulling up right now" he said as he pulled into one of the diagonal parking spaces in front of the dine-in.

Luckily, we had beaten everyone that was just getting out of school not too long ago, so we were able to get a parking spot and get inside and eat before everyone else showed up being loud and obnoxious.

"You can get whatever you'd like" Omar whispered in my ear while walking behind me. I don't think he knew what that did to me and I tried now to let it show.

I just nodded and continued to head toward the register.

"Welcome to downtown's finest dine-in. What can I start you off with?" the lady at the register spoke.

I wasn't that hungry, but I figured I could just order whatever and take the leftovers home.

"I'll have the bacon cheeseburger deluxe sandwich with fries, no tomato please. I also want a chocolate milkshake." I stepped back so that Omar could follow up with his order.

"I'll have the same thing as him, except I'll have a vanilla milkshake instead and you can keep the tomato on the burger." I made a face at his order because who actually eats tomatoes.

"Yes that'll be all, I'm paying for all of it."

"Ok, your total is $38.49."

I watched as Omar pulled two twenty dollar bills out of his back pocket and paid the lady. He seemed not to care how much money he was spending on our little "date" and I loved it. Great first impression.

"I'm sorry, I forgot to ask you guys would that be for here or to go?"

"Omar looked back at me, waiting for me to answer."

"We can eat h.." I heard the bell on the door, signaling that someone else was entering. If couldn't be anyone leaving because we were the only ones in here at the time.

I looked over to see Kyle and AJ enter the diner, AJ's arm around his shoulder. It wasn't hard for them to spot us since we were the only other two in the diner.

Kyle sent me a wink before coming over and doing the unexpected. He gave me a hug. The hug was merely a way of him continuing his petty ways.

"Looks like someone got a little desperate" he whispered in my ear.

"And do you think this happened before or AFTER I fucked AJ."

I pulled away from the hug and smiled. AJ and Omar both gave us confused looks, but I simply brushed them off.

"Actually, we'll take it to go" I smiled.

"Actually, we'll take it to go" I smiled
