"Do you really have to go baby?" I whined, putting on my best pouty face.
"Yes, I really do." AJ's voice was stern, yet compassionate, like he wanted to get his point across without hurting me feelings as much as he could.
"It's mandatory that I attend one of the three orientations so that I could get my schedule and whatever other bullshit information I need" he continued. "The first one was my fault, but I missed the second one for you. I can't miss this one."
I continued to pout, but I softened the pout just slightly because I knew that he would stay if he really had a choice.
We sat and stared at each other for a few moments longer, hand in hand, before he finally pulled me in, wrapping his arms around my neck and kissing me on the forehead.
"I'm going to miss you this weekend" I whispered into his chest trying to hide the obvious sadness in my voice.
AJ rubbed down my back a few times before finally responding. "I'll be back before you know it."
The tone in his voice was very comforting and reassuring. I relaxed into his grip, resting my hands on his chest as we just sat there, listening to each other's breathing and enjoying each other's company.
"You know I gotta eventually let go to finish getting ready right." I heard the playfulness with the serious undertone in AJ's voice.
I released a breathy sigh before separating our bodies. I stared at AJ who returned his stare followed by him licking his lips.
I planted both of my hands on each of his cheeks, pulling him in the seal the space in between us, planting a long peck on his lips.
"I love you" I spoke, almost as a whisper after pulling away.
"I love you more. I'll call you every chance I get to check up on you" he responded.
I could only smile before exiting his car and walking up to my front door as he waited for me to go inside.
Almost immediately I began to miss him. Given the nature of our relationship and how it came to be, it was odd that I felt such strong feelings for him but I couldn't help it. I guess some things were just meant to be.
After unlocking the door, I walked in the house slowly, knowing that AJ was watching me, but I didn't bother turning around. It'd only make me more upset to witness him drive off.
I slowly made my way upstairs to my room. As usual, my mom wasn't home so it was just me and my thoughts.
I tossed my phone onto the bed, throwing myself beside it, and immediately felt a wave of boredom crash over me. I decided to take a nap because what else to do when there's nothing left to do.
I reached into both of my ears, removing both of my AirPods before reaching into my pocket to grab the case.
I immediately began to panic when I realized that it wasn't in the pocket that I squally put it in. I dropped the AirPods on the bed next to my phone and began checking all of my pockets to see where they were.
At that point, I realized that both my AirPod case and my wallet were missing.
"Fuck!" I cursed under my breath.
"Hey Siri!" I called out to my phone. After she made the beeping noise, I continued. "FaceTime daddy."
"Making a FaceTime call to Daddy, heart with arrow." It annoyed me that Siri verbally stated every emoji when calling or FaceTiming someone, but by now, I was used to it.
