The car grew silent. Not a sound was being made.

A million thoughts ran through my mind at once as I contemplated what my next move because surely I couldn't let him off easily as much as I wanted to.

I was somewhere between wanting to overreact completely or be calm about it.

"You can take me home" I finally spoke in a surprisingly calm tone.

"What?" He seemed confused despite how clear I thought I was.

"You can take me home" I repeated. "We talked which was the main reason for you coming to get me. Now I'm ready to go home" I said with the same calm voice.

"That wasn't the only reason I came" he mumbled, but loud enough for me to hear him.

"So then what else could you possibly have wanted?" I said folding my arms, growing more and more irritated by the second.

"I actually wanted to spend time with you" he said, now looking at me and I couldn't help but lock my gaze with his, once again trying to find any truth behind his words.

"In your boyfriend's car? Got it" I said, breaking out of his trance.

For some reason, I had felt as if I was weakened by his stares, but I couldn't let that be the reason why he got off easy.

Mmcht

The sound of him sucking his teeth filled the car. I cheered in my head at my victory, but I didn't let my face show it.

We continued to drive, but it wasn't in the direction of my house. He had made no attempts to turn around and head in the direction.

"I guess you didn't hear me when I said that I was ready to go home" I spat out.

"Yo, watch who you talking to" was his response. I can't lie and say that I wasn't turned on by it because I definitely was. His deep voice sent chills down my spine and it was an even bigger turn on because I loved it when someone could put me in my place. But this someone belonged to someone else.

"You can either do that, let me out, or I'll just jump out." I didn't know if he thought I was playing or not, but I actually wasn't.

"Aigh, you want to go home, you got it" AJ said with a devious smirk across his face.

At that moment, he made the most illegal U-turn in the middle of a street that was being occupied by a bunch of vehicles. Not wearing a seat belt, I slid in my seat, hitting my head on the window in the process.

AJ burst out into laughter as he didn't seem to be affected by his chaotic driving.

"Why the fuck would you do that?" I screamed as I punched him into his arm. He didn't seem affected by that either.

"You said you wanted to go home right?" he mocked me as he continued to drive me home. I rolled my eyes and slouched in my seat, turning my attention to my phone to distract me.

The rest of the ride was quiet. Not even the radio was playing. I had gotten so engulfed into my phone that I had almost completely forgotten that I was in the car with AJ and I honestly liked it that way.

It was funny how you could go from wanting someone to be a part of your everyday life to not wanting them to be in it at all in a matter of seconds. I guess that everything that glitters really isn't gold.

I began to regret even agreeing to meet with him, especially since I had to basically kick Omar out to do so.

I felt like a terrible person. Omar was a good guy and it was obvious that he liked me a lot and I was honestly starting to like him to, but here I was with a nigga who wanted to have his cake and eat it too.

As we pulled up to my house, I slouched even further in my seat.

I watched as Omar walked up to my front door and knocked on it. I didn't understand why he was back, especially because he knew that I left.

"Well, you wanted to be home so bad. You gonna get out of not?" AJ asked, sounding irritated as if he were the one who found out that I came to pick him up in my boyfriend's car in attempt to get him back into my good graces. The nerve.

I turned to face AJ and then back to Omar who was now waiting for someone to come and open the door. I was sure that my mother wasn't home so it was either I saw what he wanted or waited until he left to get out of the car.

AJ turned his head, to see what I had been staring at so long and why I had not yet gotten out of the car and I wished he hadn't.

"Why you avoiding your lil boo?" he whispered into my ear. Despite how mad I wanted to be at him, he somehow kept finding ways to entice me and I wasn't liking it. I couldn't really be THAT attracted to him.

"You gonna go talk to him or should I do it?" AJ smiled at me.

I gave him the you better not look before making sure that I had everything before getting out of the car. Wouldn't want that little bitch Kyle using none of my shit.

"Omar!" I called out so that I could gain his attention.

"Hey, what're you doing back so quick?"

"I could ask you the same thing" I joked, trying to distract from the fact that AJ had not yet pulled off.

"I left my keys. I need those to get in the house. Is that your dad's car?" he said, looking and waving in the direction of the vehicle.

"Yeah, we were supposed to spend the day together but something came up" I said, wondering if my lie sounded believable or not.

"Oh ok, well can you bring me my keys. I should have left them on your nightstand."

I nodded as I put the key in the lock hole, twisting it to unlock the door. I made my way up the steps as quickly as I could to avoid anything going left while I wasn't there.

I ran into my room and immediately checked the nightstand on the side of the bed that Omar was laying on.

The keys weren't there and I began to panic as if I had lost my keys. I knew that the longer I was in here, the more of a chance that there was for things to go wrong.

I put my hands on the back of my head and looked down, immediately spotting the keys on the floor in front of the nightstand. Sigh.

I swiped them off of the ground and quickly made my way towards the steps, but slowed down when I heard AJ's voice at the front door. This can't be good.

I couldn't really make out what he said, but I did hear Omar's response.

" I don't feel like I'm competing with you for anything...Just let me go on about my day...Please."

It was obvious that Omar was closer to the door. I was starting to feel bad because Omar seemed so helpless. Part of me wanted to intervene, but I also was curious as to where this conversation would go.

I listened as a few more words between the two were exchanged before AJ's body cane tumbling through my front door.

That caused me break from my stance and practically jump down every single step at once.

I looked down at AJ who laid there drowsily with blood dripping from his nose and Omar, storming into his car and slamming the door behind him.

Within seconds, he had pulled off, leaving his keys behind.
