It all happened so fast, she never had time to react and..

It was her fault.

"I need you to stay right next to me the entire time. Don't wander off, ok honey?" Her dad smiled down at her and he seemed like an actual angel with the way the sun's rays sprouted from behind his head. His soft white wings assisted in blocking out the sun that sat in the blue, cloudless sky. It was a beautiful day and where better to spend it than in the capital market? There was the smell of freshly made goods, adults were chatting about their lives while keeping an eye on their kids, who ran and played in imaginary worlds. Flowers were in full bloom painting everything in bright colors and giving the area a joyous and lifted spirit.

"Ok daddy!" The young girl was just excited to go out into the warming sun and be a part of the days normal routines. Her white dress was brand new, light and soft to the touch, and on her feet were simple white flip flops that were just slightly too big for her small nature.

She held onto his hand, occasionally squeezing it and pulling on his shirt to point to something she saw. They were simply getting food that would be eaten up within a few days, so there was no harm in her going along. It was also relaxing to see a few pro heroes making their rounds, patrolling the area to prevent any crimes.

They stopped in front of a small stall of which the owner was selling various fruits from, so she had to let go of his hand for a moment to allow him to grab what he needed and pay for it.

In that split second, she caught eye of a puppy, wandering around with no collar on it. She idly stepped towards it and crouched down in front of it, sticking her hand out for it to sniff.

"Hi puppy. You're cute." The white puppy took a few quick sniffs of her hand and must have deemed her safe since it licked her, it's tail wagging furiously. It stepped toward her and she delighted herself in petting it.

She opened her mouth to speak, and she knows that she did, but she couldn't hear herself talk. It confused her, so she looked up around her and found that she couldn't hear anything, not just herself. She jumped up at the realization that people were running, but from what she couldn't possibly tell.

She was ignored as she tried to hear herself speak, looking around for her father. He had disappeared within the crowd. She tried to find her way back to the stall, but people ran and it became so ingested that they started shoving to get away from whatever scared them.

She frantically looked around, turning around countless times and losing her sense of direction. Her hearing started to return and she couldn't hear anything besides screaming and the loud thuds of something being destroyed.

Suddenly, the area around her opened up and a large figure approached her, but she couldn't see who it was as shadows were cast upon their face. There were no wings upon the persons back, so she knew it wasn't her father.

"What jokes! I'll let the world know just how much these so called heroes failed!" They lifted their right arm back, it had something in it. Her eyes grew wide and she stepped back, then turned to run but found herself on the ground instead by a loose brick in the ground. She screamed but the blow never came.

In between her and the villain stood an angel, wings cupping around her, but the person's eyes were in a panic.

"Run, go home now. Run and don't stop."

"But da-"

"Do what I tell you!"

She stood again and turned, sprinting because her life quite literally depended on it. She risked a glance back and felt bile rise in her throat. She forced herself to look forward again, she couldn't control her quirk well enough to fly yet so she had to watch where she was running.
