"STAAARRRT!!"

She shot to the left as soon as the word finished, a good choice on her part since Mina immediately threw her arm forward, acid being thrown her way.

Soraka had a plan, she just didn't know if it would actually work or not.

Fire danced on her hand, travelling up her arm and down her right side. She stomped her right foot against the ground, sending the flame down her leg. It shot across the ground, flaring up towards Mina. The other girl dodged it, but the flames stayed, dancing high.

Soraka quickly did the maneuver again, blocking Mina into a much smaller area.

Her wings shot out, helping her to jump higher to avoid the constant stream of acid Mina was throwing at her.

Just get it done and over with, there's no need to drag this on.

Soraka waited until a break in the acid before diving down towards Mina. She was just going to push her out, to avoid hurting her too much. The other girl had to have realized this, since she used her acid slick shoes to dodge to the other side. She was still limited in where she could go. While he back was to Mina, she felt the burning sensation on her wings. She dropped to the ground and took a quick glance. It was the acid that hit her wings, not her own fire already burning through. She let them fall to ashes, jumping through her fire to avoid being hit by more.

She sent another flame to block Mina off further. The pink girl only had a small rectangle to work in now. Soraka could faintly see the worry on her face through the dancing fire, but she knew exactly where Soraka was.

She willed her flames to become denser, hotter. She used this to move, hiding her position from Mina.

"I'm sorry." She whispered before sprouting wings once again, and using them to launch herself forward. With a tight fist, she punched Mina in her gut, sending the girl just barely out of the ring. In an instant, the flames died out and Soraka stood at the edge of the ring.

"Ashido is out of bounds! Umitsu will advance to round 2!" People cheered. At the conformation of her win, she now approached Mina and held out a hand to help her up.

"You okay?"

"You kidding me?!" Mina gripped her hand tight and jumped up. "That was awesome! You're really sneaky, but I know you held back! That was really fun though!" She was grinning from ear to ear, rather than sulking.

"Well I'm glad you seem to be okay with losing." Soraka smiled and let go of her hand, beginning to walk out of the arena.

Mina huffed and shook her head once. "I'm not okay with losing, but it was a good experience! I hope we get to do this kind of stuff in class more often to be honest!"

They passed by Yaoyorozu, who was next.

"Good luck Momo! You got this!" They cheered for her while passing by.

"I'll try my best. Who won your match?" She asked, both girls pointing to Soraka in response.

"I see. If I win then we'll be going against each other. Otherwise, you'll have Tokoyami."

That would be the easiest match ever. She thought, but some of her thoughts spilled out. "I'd feel like I cheated against him. Light triumphs over dark."

Yaoyorozu nodded, and Mina grabbed Soraka's hand.

"Anyways, we should hurry up and sit down so we don't miss it!"

"Alright." Momo's smile was forced. She was nervous but tried her best to hide it. "I'll see you both later."

The two returned to class 1-A's seats, earning 'good job' and 'congrats', among other things from their classmates.
