She had absolutely no idea on how to beat Bakugou.
This was a realization she had quickly into her fight with him. Soraka didn't even know if anyone else could see them as they danced around each other;flames were doing their own dance as they would spread across, staying within the boundary.
"You just don't know when to quit do you?!" He yelled at her. He was flying around using his explosions, getting close to her and using a similar move to that he had used against Midoriya during their hero vs. villain fights. She raised her arms in defense as he came at her, flames spiraling down her arms to meet him. As soon as they left her palms, he set off an explosion in front of her, sending himself up while also causing her to step back. Her wings snapped tightly together behind her in anticipation as she caught onto what he was doing. She had done so just in time, as another explosion tore at her wings and sent her forward.
She twisted her body in midair to throw flames at him, successfully hitting him. They were similar in how much damage they had taken. They both were covered in burns, her back was aching, and she could see him hold his wrists every now and then for a moment. Their uniforms were barely clinging on at this point, black and charred as they were. A lot of their skin was exposed because of her fire.
"I could say the same to you!" She retorted. I could use that..no, it's too much..but I can do something else..
"The hell are you grinning for? Stop day dreaming and fight me!"
She took a deep breath before lunging for one of the large flames that covered the arena. Similar to what she had done earlier, she used the fire as a shield to hide herself. She knew he was expecting her behind it, and was ecstatic at the surprise on his face when he was met with a flaming lion instead. It took hold of his wrist in it's jaws, it wouldn't be able to pierce the skin like an animal normally would be able to. It instead left burns before it was thrown to ash. His skin was grey-ish, almost black, as remaining ashes fell off. Bakugou definitely seemed shocked at the new trick, but it wasn't enough to completely throw him off guard.
He stared at the burns for a moment, scowling at them. She took this chance to lunge for him in an attempt to throw him out. She got close before he threw up his hands, and with a loud, almost painful sounding scream, let out an explosion just as big and powerful as the one he had used during his fight with Uraraka. It hadn't been aimed at a person, but this time, it was.
As soon as the smoke cleared, she coughed, finding herself on the ground. She pushed herself up slightly, laying on her side, her wings completely torn. There were no traces of fire on them or anywhere else, save for the black and charred concrete. Her wings disintegrated into ash that, for a moment, sat still on the ground before the breeze finally carried them up. They each lit into a golden particle before completely disappearing.
Soraka stared at the ground for a moment, and when she finally found the strength to cast her eyes up at him, she saw that he wasn't looking much better. He was hunched over, clutching his arm that had been burned so badly that it looked black. His own ruby eyes glanced up, his teeth were tightly clenched, and he was doing his best to take deep breaths. She swore she saw him nod slightly before she violently coughed, blood splattering onto the concrete.
"Umitsu is unable to continue!" Midnight seemed panicked now, quickly ending the fight. "Bakugou wins! Looks like our final match is set! Todoroki versus Bakugou!" Soraka couldn't even hear if the crowd was cheering or not. She had a ringing in her ears. She slid down, completely laying on the ground. "Get both of them to Recovery Girl." Midnight pointed towards one of the tunnels, then picked her up and gently set her onto the stretcher.
Soraka found herself in a hospital bed, but she knew she was still at the school, as Recovery Girl was sitting in her chair tending to Bakugou. Soraka had bandages wrapped around her arms mostly. To her immediate right was a new pair of the training uniform pants, and a new black tank top. The ringing had stopped and she could hear the elderly lady disciplining him.
