Present Mic might have had an extremely loud voice even without his quirk, and yet it was still no match for the thrilled audience. They drowned him out completely. It seemed that every seat was taken, the stadium filled with businessmen, regular people, and most importantly, pro heroes. They were already watching with a keen eye, eager to scout for the next top heroes that would be among these first years. It was only so due to class 1-A itself having survived a surprise villain attack. It had been all over the news, but thankfully none of the students had been revealed to the press.

The top first years would be by the end of the festival, since it was being broadcast across the entire globe. Just the thought of everyone knowing them, even if they were only remembered for a mere few days, sent chills down Soraka. Her parents were watching, she didn't even need to ask if they were. It made her sick.

"Now now, fair play!" The voice rang out, demanding silence from everyone as soon as all the first years were in their proper place. By class, they were all in perfect squares as they lined up with each other. Keeping a blank expression as best as she could, Soraka kept her eyes up and on Midnight, who was to be their referee. She wore her hero costume, so it was hard not to ignore the murmurs of both the audience and some of the classes. She could feel a blush creep onto her own face.

"Silence. My tenure here is perfectly on the level! Now, player rep!" A tense silence followed. Surely it would be Todoroki or Yaoyorozu, or even someone from the other hero class who had gotten in on recommendations. They were the best of the best after all.

"Bakugou Katsuki of 1-A!" What?! Why that jerk?!

"He placed first in the entrance exam, remember?" Sero whispered over to Midoriya. True, but his attitude should've prevented this from happening. Soraka slumped a bit and braced herself for whatever he was going to say. Whatever it would be, it surely wouldn't be any good.

"Sensei, I'm gonna place first." Straight-faced. She groaned along with what sounded like everyone in their class. She opened her eyes to find him flicking his fist under his chin. What a royal pain in the ass. He marched right off the stage with his hands shoved into his pockets.

Midnight reclaimed her spot center stage and with a snap of her whip had everyone's attention once again. "All right, with that we can move directly onto our first event!" A screen popped right up behind her and words began to spin like a slot machine.

"Onto the "preliminaries," as they're called! Lots of fine fold end up choking on their tears here every year! And this year's first round of destiny is.." She paused to let the board stop. With a ding, large blue words stopped in the center.

"This!" It read 'Obstacle Race' and yet there were no obstacles. That is until she gestured to a red gate with three unlit lights atop it. She began to explain it and the rules as the classes lined up at the gate.

It's too small for everyone to fit into at once.. She noted while approaching it. Surely she wasn't the only one to notice. She could feel people looking around, glaring at one another as they realized it.

"On your marks.." Midnight started, so that meant everyone was there and ready to go.

She quickly removed her jacket, tying it around her waist and receiving questioning glances from those around her. Probably because I'm not wearing a tank top. True to her own thoughts, she wore a sports bra with the back slightly hitched up.

"STAAARRRT!!" Midnight yelled, which in turn got the crowd already cheering. As soon as the word left her mouth, Soraka jumped and was soaring above them and through the gate.

She went right past most people, even spotting a few of her classmates. The only one ahead of her was Todoroki who was running ahead. She didn't even notice that he had frozen those behind him to the ground. Midnight did say anything could go as long as you stayed within the course. With a quick glance back, she could point out that Yaoyorozu, Kirishima, Aoyama, and Bakugou had made it out. She focused her eyes forward again, hearing Mina and Ojiro comment on Todoroki's cheap tactic.
