The Peacekeeper

Chapter 14

As soon as I heard that scream, I knew it was my mum. I looked at my mum and ran over to her.

"Mum!" I shouted. She had a knife in her chest. When she fell to her knees, I saw Andy behind her. I growled and used water to blast him into a tree. He was knocked out so I left him and knelt beside my mum. I took the knife out and burnt it.

"Mum" I said again. She looked at me.

"Cece, look after your...sister...Charlotte, and...look after...the werewolf race. You're the...Moon Goddess...now" She whispered slowly. I saw my vision get blurry.

"Mum no, please no" I said. She smiled at me weakly.

"I love you Cece" She said before her body went limp. I started crying and felt arms wrap around me. I looked up and saw Daniel and Charlotte. Charlotte looked heartbroken and Daniel had a sad look in his eyes.

"Mum?" I heard Charlotte say. She knelt beside me and started crying. I hugged her and we cried together.

We stood up and then we saw a light come out from my mum's body and head for me. It stopped in front of me for a minute before going into my chest. I felt my dress go floor length and then I felt some sort of power. I looked at my mum's body as it faded away. Then I looked at everyone else. They all bowed down to me and I smiled but started getting teary eyed again.

"Arise, everyone" I said. My voice suprised me. It sounded similar to my mum's. I watched as everyone stood up.

"Ok, now that's over, let's go inside. It's my birthday, I wanna celebrate" I said to everyone. They all looked at me wierdly.

"What? Just because I'm now the Moon Goddess doesn't mean I'm not me anymore" I said. My voice had returned to normal by now.

Some people shrugged and went inside. I walked in side and to the living room. Everyone followed me so I played the music again and sat down. Daniel sat next to me. He seemed deep in thought so I waved my hand in front of his face.

"I'm mated to the Moon Goddess" He kept muttering.

"We know that Daniel" I said to him. He finally snapped out of his thoughts and looked at me. He smiled and brought me onto his lap. We all fell into an awkward silence. I could tell they didn't know what to do or say. I sighed.

"Guys, come on, I'm still me. Why act different just because I'm the Moon Goddess" I said to them.

"It's a big deal when you're best friends with the Moon Goddess. And it's even bigger for Daniel since he's mated to the Moon Goddess. Wait...So that means..." Talia said, trailing off at the end and looking wide eyed at Daniel. I looked at Daniel and smiled.

"Daniel's the Moon God" I said. He went wide eyed and looked at me.

"There's never been a Moon God before" Chloe said. I looked at her.

"I know, That's probably because all the other Moon Goddess' never had mates and their mum created them without a mate" I said. My mum taught me evrything I needed to know for when I did take over. Because my mum decided to create me with a mate, I wasn't supposed to take her place until we were fully mated.

We all fell into an awkward silence once again. They seriously didn't know what to do or say at all.

"Hey, why don't we have a bonfire tonight" I suggested. We haven't really planned a party. Everyone agreed.

"I love bonfires!" Talia shouted. I stood up.

"Well, I'm gonna get changed, this dress isn't the right thing for a bonfire" I said. Talia stood up too.
