The Peacekeeper

Chapter 16

*Charlotte's P.O.V*

I always dreamt of meeting Cece one day, but I never imagined it would be in a war. That day was...strange. As I was helping Cece heal, I felt the pain in my arm through our family bond. I knew mum could feel it too, but I felt another bond, I didn't know what it was so I ignored it.

I felt it throughout the attack, but I kept ignoring it. Then I felt pain in my chest and I heard a scream. I finished off the rouges and ran to where the scream came from.

When I saw it was mum, I felt lost, I didn't know what to do or anything, so I knelt next to Cece and cried with her. After a while, we stood up but then a light came from mum and went to Cece. At that point, I could feel something different. I ignored the pain in my chest, even though it wasn't in the family bond.

As Cece was now the Moon Goddess, technically, I was now the peacekeeper. That day, changed our lives forever.

Ok, back to the present day, I was currently in Doncaster. The local pack had some demon problems. I had to stay here for a month before moving on. Sometimes I seriously wish I didn't have to do this.

I sighed and looked around. I was in the school getting my stuff sorted. Luckily, I did Cece's trick and made myself human so no one knew who exactly I was. I was still in thought of everything until I heard someone call to me.

"Hey, new girl" I heard a guy shout. I turned round to look at him. He was quite tall, tan, muscular. He had blue eyes and blonde hair. He was a wolf.

"Hey" I said back. He walked up to me.

"I'm Nathan" He said. I smiled.

"I'm Charlotte" I said. He seemed nice, that was, until he looked at me lustfully. My smile dropped and I backed away. He stalked towards me like I was his prey. I kept backing up until I hit a wall. He trapped me there and smirked. I knew what he was going to say.

"No way jose" I said. His smirk dropped.

"No one says no to me!" He shouted at me then grabbed me by my neck. I felt him break my leg with his knee but it healed instantly. He looked suprised but didn't say anything. I decided to tease him.

"Do you really want to mate with a demon?" I asked smirking.

"What?" He said. Now that I got his attention instead of him breaking every bone in my body, I shifted into my demon form. He dropped me and backed up.

Then he snarled and went to hit me. I caught it at the last second and roundhouse kicked him. He went down but got back up. I shifted back into my human form, hiding all my scents, and continued fighting him.

Whilst I was fighting him, I erased the memory of me shifting to a demon and made him think he was fighting me because I said no.

"I thought you'd fight better, what with being a wolf and Beta at that" I said to him as I dogded all his hits then threw some and hit him.

"I'm not a wolf" He said. I saw straight through him.

"I can see straight past that lie. No one can lie to me" I said. We dropped the subject and focused on fighting. I nocticed about 5 minutes ago that we had an audience, all of them were wolves. After a few minutes, I got bored so I decided to end it and flipped him over. I heard a few gasps but ignored them and looked down at Nathan.

"Nate, you might wanna keep training with your alpha. Eventually you'll get better" I said then look at the audience. They looked shocked that a human, girl at that, had beaten their Beta. I smiled and heard Nathan move about. I could tell he was going for my ankle so i jumped at the last second and landed on his hand. I turned to face him.
