The Peacekeeper

Chapter 3

Recap:

After about 3 hours we came back with about 20 bags each and we went straight to the kitchen. That was the biggest food shop I've ever done. We put the bags down on the side. I'll unpack later, I thought.

"Mum we're back!" Kat shouted. We got no reply, so we walked into the living room to find Kat's parents and brother weren't there. I crouched down trying to track them.

"They aren't in the house, must be out hunting" I told Kat, standing up and facing her. She had her fangs elongated and she was slowly stalking towards me. I let my vampire side dominate again and she stopped coming towards me.

"We'll find them Kat, just calm down" I said to her. She contracted her fangs and got teary eyed.

"They better be ok" She said.

"They will be, if they're hurt, I can heal them, don't worry" I reassured her and hugged her. She hugged me back and I could feel her tears dripping on to my shoulder.

"Let's go find them" I said. We broke apart and ran outside into the forest. After about 5 minutes of running, we heard something in the bushes. We stopped running and slowly walked towards the bushes. What we saw wasn't what we expected.

All I could hear was Kat's screaming. In front of us was her parents and brother with a big hole in their chests where their hearts are supposed to be. The rustling we heard must have been the one who took their hearts.

Once I snapped out my thoughts, I sniffed around, hoping to catch a scent of what creature and which way they went. I could smell wolf and it was fresh.

"Them damn wolves, never know when to stop" I muttered. I turned to face Kat. She was crying over her family's bodies. I came next to her and hugged her from the side.

"Kat its ok, I'll find the wolves that killed them, and Ill deal with them" I told her. She nodded a bit.

"I should have never brought them up here, I'm so stupid" She said. She looked at me, her tears had stopped now. "You said you can heal them, can you?" she asked.

"I don't know, I've never healed a person without a heart, but I'll try" I said. She nodded and I let go of her and put my hands over Donna first. I closed my eyes and concentrated on her heart reappearing and the hole sealing up. When Kat gasped, I knew it was working. I didn't stop until I heard Donna start breathing again. I opened my eyes and gasped.

"I did it, it worked" I whispered more to myself. Kat was smiling like the Cheshire cat at me. I moved on to Dave and did the exact same thing. When I heard Dave breathing, I moved on to Blaze. It was a little harder on Blaze, but it worked. By the time I finished on Blaze, Donna had woken up. She had a confused look on her face, but Kat had the complete opposite. She was still smiling like the Cheshire cat, at her mum and at me.

"You did it!" She shouted at me happily, waking her dad up in the process. I was smiling at her.

"I can't believe I did it!" I said. Suddenly we heard a growl from behind us. Blaze had woken up by this point. I got up and into a fighting stance.

"No!! That's not possible!! How can a pesky human, heal the god damn blood suckers?!?!" I heard a male voice yell at me. Luckily, I was still hiding my scent, so everyone who didn't know me thought I was human.

"Probably because we aren't a normal family. We're different than everyone else" I said casually to the voice. As soon as I said that a tall, muscular man had come out from behind the bushes. He was quite tall, blue eyes, blonde hair. He was probably the Beta. I saw confusion in his eyes.

"Theres your explanation wolfy" I said. He growled.

"I'm not a wolf" He muttered but we all heard him.

"Stop lying I know you're a wolf, I can tell" I said crossing my arms over my chest. His face was like the intruder's earlier, priceless!

"H-h-how do you...?" He trailed off. I looked at Kat giving her a de-ja-vu-or-what look. She started laughing.

"Please, I'm best friends with wolves all over England, and their face was just like yours!" I let out the laughter that I was holding in. Blaze, Donna, Dave and Kat all joined in. He still had the shocked look on his face.

"Aww, is the little wolfy shocked? Or is he paralyzed with that shocked face on?" He seriously looked paralyzed. He wasn't moving, talking, and I swear he's not breathing. I walked up to him and started waving my hand in front of his face. He grabbed my hand and growled at me. I faked being in pain.

"Ow! let go of me!" I said. He fell for it and smirked, squeezing my wrist harder. I stopped faking it and looked him in the eye.

"If you want to keep your hand let go of my wrist and back off" I threatened. He didn't let go so I grabbed his hand with my free one and burned his hand a little. He let go of my hand and I let go of his.

"What are you?!" He said. I smirked at him.

"A 'pesky human' thats good with matches" I showed him the box in my sleeve. I keep them there for when I do something like I just did. Again, he had a shocked look on his face.

"Never underestimate us girls" I said matter-of-factly. He growled once again and started walking off.

"Oh, and if you touch these vampires again, you're dead" I shouted after him. He ignored me and continued walking off. I turned around to Kat and her family. Dave, Donna and Blaze still had confused looks on their faces.

"We'll explain when we get back" I said to them. They all nodded, and we started walking back to my house.

Once we got inside, we went straight to the living room. Kat's family sat down as me and Kat stood in front of them. We started explaining what had happened to them and to say they were shocked was an understatement. By the time that me and Kat had finished explaining, Kat was smiling at me like the Cheshire cat again. Donna got teary eyed every so often.

After a while of talking, I saw it was getting dark outside.

"Don't you have to go? I mean, it'll be dark soon. If you want, you can stay here tonight. I have plenty of room" I told Kat. She looked at her parents and they all smiled at each other.

"Actually, we wanted to know if...if umm, we could move in with you" Kat said. I stared at her wide eyed.

"Yes!! Of course, you can!!" I practically shouted at them. They all smiled at me and we had a group hug.

"I'll ring the school and get you enrolled. You can start tomorrow with me. And we need to go get your stuff" I told Kat. She smiled at me as I got my phone out and rung the school up. I got them enrolled and they could start tomorrow with me.

"I'll teleport us to London so we can get your stuff" I told them. We all held hands and I teleported us to London. We packed what they wanted and picked up the boxes. Then they managed to touch me, and I teleported us back to my house. I showed them their rooms and they put the boxes down and started unpacking.

Once they finished unpacking, we went out hunting. After about 1 hour we went back to our house. We watched a couple of movies and then me, Kat and Blaze went to bed because we had to get up early tomorrow for school.
