❝mother, what is it?❞ jaehyun bowed at the lady who sat on her throne like the queen she is.

standing up from her throne, jaehyun quickly took a step back. he's scared that his mother might do something to him again. what if she had found out about him marrying taeyong and becoming a secret happy family?

what if she had found out about donghyuck giving birth to the chosen ones? that yijun and donghyun will be the ones that will put an end to her so called, 'eternal life'?

❝how many times do i have to tell you to never have any connections with any angels and punish whomever of your devils falls for an angel or a human?❞ his mother started walking down the small staircase where her throne was at. once she was in the same level as her son, she slowly went near him.

❝and that son of yours? he doesn't deserve to live.❞ his mother hissed as she crushed the heart she was holding. jaehyun closed his eyes after seeing someone's heart being crushed by his mother once again.

❝w-why?❞ jaehyun managed to asked. he was so hesitant to speak. he don't want to come out rude to his mother. ❝w-why do you hate m-my family so much?❞

his mother cackle like a maniac. her hands grabbed hold of jaehyun's jaw tightly as she forced his son's face to look at her. ❝why? you wanna know why after all these decades?❞

❝well then, simple, love.❞

jaehyun frowned. love? is she out of her mind? as far as he knows, his mother never cared about love and never had she experienced it. she even forbid every devil in her kingdom to not love or else they either get locked up for eternity or turn into ashes.

❝you know nothing about love mother. stop with all these nonsense and just answer my question. why do you hate my family so much?!❞ jaehyun said as he gritted his teeth and glared at his mother. he shook his head as an attempt to get his mother's tight grip on his jaw and for his luck, he succeeded.

❝oh no, honey, i don't really hate your family, it's just that... i'm against it because your husband?❞ his mother let out a small bitter chuckle. ❝his ancestors, they killed your father.❞

❝seriously? you hate the angels because they killed father?❞ jaehyun scoffed and take a step forward. ❝you. you never cared about father so what the fuck are all these nonsense things you're telling me?!❞

❝i shouldn't had come here. i'm just wasting my time for a stupid mother like you.❞ jaehyun snapped at his mother and turned his back at her as he started walking away.

but hearing his mother say two certain names from his family made him stood frozen on his place. he slowly turned around to face his mother again with eyes trembling. how? just how? he had been keeping them as a secret for so long. how can his mother know their name?

his mother smiled. seeing her son looks so defeated made her smile. ❝yijun and donghyun.❞

❝i want to see them.❞

❝w-who?❞

❝oh please don't act dumb my son, you know who i'm talking to. your grandsons, i want to see them.❞

collecting all the courage he has, jaehyun bravely looked straight into his mother's eyes and clenched his hands into fist. ❝no. i already let you take my son's boyfriend away from him, i'm not letting you take away my son's kids away from him too.❞

❝you will never win mother. yijun and donghyun will have you killed by the end of the day. good always wins.❞

❝papa, i swear! we gotta get uncle markie a new home! he lives in there!❞ yijun had dragged his papa all the way to where the entrance of the chamber where mark was.

donghyuck stared at his son, confused. ❝you sure that that uncle markie of yours lives here?❞

yijun nodded and turned to his brother. ❝donghyun, tell papa it's true!❞

donghyun stared at his brother before looking at his papa and nodding. ❝uncle markie reallyyyyyy needs to have a new house!❞

donghyuck giggled at how his sons are that too eager to help this man that had helped them get back to him. but one question remains, why were they in that chamber? ❝okay okay, stay here and i'll find him. it's dangerous down there and i don't want any of you to get hurt. stay here.❞

❝but papa, how will you find him? you don't know the way.❞ yijun pouted.

donghyuck then crouched down to be at the same level with his kids and took their hands. ❝just tell me what he looks like.❞

❝he looks exactly like yijun hyung! he also has the same necklace as yours papa!❞ donghyun said as he stepped forward and held his papa's necklace to show him.

❝m-minhyung.❞ donghyuck mumbled to himself before quickly standing back up and entering the chamber. ❝go to your uncle jaemin for the time being! don't tell anyone where i am!❞ he waved at his sons before going deeper inside the chamber.

❝come on, work. show me where my minhyung is.❞ donghyuck muttered as he kept on talking to his necklace. he had gone deeper in the chamber, fought monsters and others yet he still haven't found any clue on where the heck his minhyung is.

❝lee minhyung! where are you?!❞

❝yijun? donghyun? what are you guys doing here? where's your papa?❞

the two looked at each other as they communicate through their eyes. they made a promise to their papa to not tell anyone where he is. shaking his head, yijun pulled donghyun and hid him behind him. ❝who are you?❞

❝me?❞ the lady chuckle. ❝well, i'm your great grandmother. i'm jaehyun's mother, your grandpa jae's mother.❞

yijun then turned to face his brother and held his shoulders. ❝donghyun listen to me,❞ he whispered while taking a quick glance at the lady. ❝run. run as fast as you can and never come back here. hyung will follow, i promise.❞

❝oh wow, you're much braver than i thought. a six years old boy like you knows so much. would you mind sharing things with granny?❞ the lady said as she started walking near them.

yijun pushed his brother. ❝go!❞ he shouted at donghyun but the younger didn't moved. instead, he took a step closer to his brother.

❝i'll follow, i promise.❞ yijun whispered before turning to face the lady.

yijun then scoffed as he stared at the lady. ❝i was raised to be brave lady.❞

❝hyung?❞ donghyun stopped running midway as he finally realized that his brother didn't followed him.

❝i need to get uncle yuta and uncle hansol.❞
