"Ms. Harvey, you still with us?"
I snapped out of my thoughts and gave my professor my attention.
"Sir?"
"I asked you what the most important principle method of journalism is." He replied looking annoyed with me.
I guess I'd just been completely out of it and he'd asked me something, totally unlike me.
"Oh, I'm sorry Professor Nyson. It's networking."
"That is Correct." He said smirking at me before moving on with his lesson.
After the weekend I'd had, my mind was no longer focused on anything school related.
I'd had the opportunity of going on my very first date. Odell had been very sweet too. He came and picked me up in a Lamborghini truck and whisked me off to the countryside for a day of wine tasting, Something I'd never had the chance to do.
At the winery, he was all into me, constantly asking me questions about myself, my childhood, my dreams and aspirations, everything. I found out a lot of things about him as well and although I'd enjoyed his company, my mind was still elsewhere.
Trey and I had a real moment at the club that night. He was the one I was dreaming of. He was the one I was literally obsessing over, even though he still hadn't called me.
I'd made sure the phone was fully charged and everything and the ringer was on full blast.
I still wasn't sure what our instant connection was about, but what I did know was that I was itching to feel it again.
"Okay class, that's it for today's lecture. Please remember 88.5 WRAS is having a huge r&b and hip hop radio show this weekend that I'll be working. Any of you are welcome to come and obtain extra credit towards your final exam grade coming up. I think it would be great exposure for those of you who plan to actually use your journalism degree in the media field. Let me know if you're interested so I can put you down on the list. Other than that, class dismissed." He said.
Everyone got up and hauled ass out of the classroom.
I stood up and threw all my things in my backpack before placing it on my back.
"Ms. Harvey, can I have a word with you?" He asked approaching me.
"Sure." I smiled.
"I just wanted to make sure everything is okay with you. You seemed a little out of it today."
"Oh, I had a long weekend so I'm just a little tired. I assure you that it won't happen again." I replied.
"I understand, trust me," he said, "so, you interested in the radio show this weekend?"
"Of course, I'm always down for extra credit."
He smiled, "Even though you don't need it, I'd be honored if you and some of the others accompanied me. I think the exposure would be excellent."
