Lori
"Lori?!" Morgan squealed pulling me out of my daydream.
"What?" I said blankly.
She gestured at the stove in front of me where the chicken and rice dish I was preparing was boiling immensely and spilling out of the pot.
"Oh shit." I said turning the heat down and putting the top back on the pot.
I'd been out of my mind every since I'd woke up this morning.
Today was the day that Cruella herself was coming to visit. As badly as I wanted her stay here to be pleasant, the anxiousness I felt in the bottom of my stomach told me that her visit would be anything but that.
Even with that being said, I understood that she was Trey's mom and if he and I were gonna continue to be together, some kind of way, I was gonna have to make nice with this she devil.
"Let me guess; you thinking about the monster in law." Morgan said moving me out of the way as she checked on the dish.
I sighed, "Busted. Morgan, I hope this shit goes well. I cannot take being stressed out right now."
"Regardless of how she acts, remember your place. He is your soon to be husband and the father of your unborn. Your position is solidified. She can either respect it and play nice or not and hit the door." Morgan said matter of factly.
I shrugged, "I guess you're right."
"Of course, I am." She said turning the eye on the stove off, "by the way, where is Trey?"
"He went to the store to grab some black walnut ice cream. Apparently, it's his mom's favorite." I said rolling my eyes.
The back door opened as he and Christian appeared with a couple plastic shopping bags.
"Speaking of the devil..." Morgan teased.
"What, y'all talking bout me?" He said sitting the bags on the counter.
"Yep, your ears must've been burning." She responded.
"I hope y'all was saying some good shit." He said cutting his eyes playfully between the two of us.
"But of course." I said making my way around the counter to kiss his lips.
"Is Gramma here yet?" Christian asked excitedly.
"No, not yet." I replied giving him a fake smile.
"She texted and said that her plane landed about forty five minutes ago. So she should be here soon." Trey said pecking me again quickly before fishing in his jacket pockets for his phone.
"Great." I said sarcastically.
He put his arms around my waist, "Its gonna be fine. I'm not gonna let her attack you."
