Lori
Even with my eyes closed, I could feel someone staring at me.
Slowly, I woke up and looked to my right, but Trey was still sleep, mouth wide open and everything.
I thought maybe I was crazy until I looked in front of me and damn near hollered when I saw Morgan at the foot of my bed with her arms crossed staring at us.
I pulled the sheet up over my naked body and gave her a 'what are you doing in here' look before looking back at Trey, who was still completely out of it.
"We need to talk!" She whispered loudly before leaving the room.
I sighed and eased out of bed.
After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I put on my white, plush robe and went looking for Ms. Nosy Pants.
I finally found her downstairs in the kitchen preparing breakfast as CNN blared on the small television hanging in the corner of the room.
"Good morning." I spoke announcing my presence.
She looked up at me and smirked, "Good morning. Breakfast should be done soon."
"Smells good." I replied.
"So let's cut the shit," She said.
"Let's." I said.
"Trey is the guy you left Atlanta to be with."
I nodded, "Yes."
"And after he moved you out here, he had a baby with someone else, left you, and went and married her." She said.
Just hearing her say that had me extra tight.
"The events didn't quite play out like that specifically, but yeah." I said.
"So, why, is he in your bed? You do realize that you are sleeping with a married man?" She said as her voice started to get louder.
"Lower your voice," I said with my teeth clenched, "Our situation is a little....complicated."
Damn, now I sounded like Trey's ass.
"What's complicated about it?" She said, "he is taken Lori. We weren't raised to go chasing after other women's scraps. We're good enough to go out and get our own men."
"While I appreciate your concern, you don't know our story. So you need to calm down and stay in your lane." I said getting defensive.
