"Baby?"

I could hear Lori softly speaking to me as I woke up.

When I felt her rub my shoulder, my eyes slowly opened.

I smiled when I saw her face and pulled her face in for a kiss.

"Good morning," she said sweetly pecking my lips, "your phone has been ringing off the hook for the last twenty minutes. It could be something important."

I ran my fingers through her hair and sighed as I sat up and grabbed my phone off the night stand.

Before I could even check my missed calls, the phone started vibrating in my hand.

When I saw who it was, I took a deep breath and answered.

"Hello?"

"Tremaine, What the hell do you think you are doing?" Mom asked.

"What you talking bout?" I said already knowing what she was referring to.

As soon as I'd discovered how I wanted to propose to Lori, I prepared myself for the public backlash I'd receive from family, friends, and fans because of how quickly we were moving.

No one knew our story though, so I wasn't concerned with what people were gonna think, not even my own mother.

I was done living my life for other people. It was time I did what made me happy.

"You know exactly what I'm talking bout. You proposed to that girl? Are you insane?!"

"I'm not. She and I are in love and we don't see the point in waiting when we both know what we want for our future. Is this your way of saying congratulations? Cause it definitely doesn't seem like it." I replied.

Lori looked over at me nervously.

"You are in way over your head. You and Megan haven't even been divorced a whole year and you're ready to jump the broom all over again to a girl you barely even know!" She fussed.

"I'm an adult, Ma. You think you know what's best for me but the truth is you don't. The only person that knows that is me."

"What about Christian? How does he feel about all this?"

"He doesn't know yet. We were planning to talk to him about it over breakfast this morning." I said.

"You can't just make these decisions without him, Tremaine. He's your family and his best interest is what should be pursued at all times." She replied.

"Christian loves Lori. I don't foresee it being a problem. If anything, he'll be even happier than he already is to be in a loving house with sane adults who love and cherish him." I said.

"But Trey..." she started.

"Ma, all you've done over the last year is judge me for my choices and tell me what you think I should be doing. Why can't you just support me and be here to go through this journey with me?" I said sincerely.
