"did you finally decide you wanted to be like us?"

♡♡♡

The next day soon arrived, I woke up early enough to make sure I was completely ready. I ran into the bathroom and took a shower, after I had showered I dried my hair and decided to straighten it. I put on some light make up, making sure that it was enough to cover any bruises. I rushed back into my bedroom and searched through everything in my wardrobe, trying to find the perfect outfit. I soon found the most fitting thing and put it on.

I decided on wearing a white belly top, a black skirt with thigh high black socks and some black doc martens. I also decided to wear a leather jacket and a black beanie. I put on a choker neckless and grabbed my phone, waiting for Ryan.

•a few minutes later•

"Hey star, you ready?" Ryan yelled from downstairs.

"Yeah, be there in a second!"

I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs, James must have gone to work already as I didn't see him around at all. I heard Ryan beep his horn, I guess I was taking too long. I ran outside the house and locked the front door behind me. I opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat, I didn't bother buckling my seat belt.

"Y/n? What's with this new look? Don't get me wrong, you look cool. You're totally like me, now." Ryan laughed.

Ryan and all his other friends were the emo and edgy type, they wore leather jackets and all that shit. They were actually all quite popular, I mean who could blame them? They're amazing at music, heck, even some of them are crazily hot. They were also the badasses, the people who most students feared. Although if you knew them like I did, You'd find that they're sweethearts.

"I decided I wanted a change, maybe I was slightly inspired by my brother." I winked before also laughing.

"What made you want to change?" Ryan started driving.

"Hm, just tired of being treated like I'm nothing, I guess. I want to show people that I'm not some emo, shy bitch and that I can stick up for myself."

"Y/n Ross! You don't have to change to prove yourself to other people, you of all people should know that! Plus you can't help that you have anxiety and all these other, issues. You are you, and that's all that matters. But if this is what will make you happy, then I'm happy." Ryan ranted.

"Yes, yes. I get it, okay? But I think this may be the next thing, I feel like this is gonna be a good change."

Ry sighed before silence filled the car. 5 minutes later we arrived at school. As Ryan and I climbed out the car, all eyes were on us, well on me. I smirked and continued to walk next to my brother, proudly. For once I didn't hide behind him. "I can do this," I thought. "Nothing will get in my way today, today this is my day." I continued to walk alongside my brother. We walked through the hall ways, gasps could be heard from all around us which just made me smirk more. Ryan seemed to get slightly uncomfortable as he placed sun glasses over his eyes. "Strange." I thought.

Soon enough we reached his friends.

"Yo, Ryan! And of course, y/n." Pete did the little bro-hug thing with Ryan, and bowed as he said my name which cause me to roll my eyes.

"Lovin' the change, little Ross. That outfit totally suits you." He continued.

"Hey Ross'. Yeah, y/n it looks so good on ya!" Patrick joined in.

"Thank you, shit heads."

We all stood there talking and laughing for a while, until a deep cough filled our ears. We all turned and looked at who the cough belonged to, Brendon.

"Woah, little Ross you look hot. What's with all this, wanted to fit in with us, huh?" Brendon laughed. I looked to his arm to see Sarah standing there, Brendon's arm wrapped around her waist. She too was laughing.

"Brendon?" Ryan spoke, "What are you doing?" He questioned.

"Go away, Brendon. Why would I want to fit in with an asshole like you, anyway?" I shoved him, he looked shocked.

Sarah had left by then, as soon as she saw me step a bit closer to her and Brendon she made an excuse and left. I walked closer to Brendon and whispered in his ear, "and by the way, I know about your hook up with Sarah's best friend."

I pulled my head away and smirked, "wouldn't want rumours spreading now, would you? See you in class."

Brendon looked shocked as I laughed. I walked past him and nudged him as I did, he fell into the lockers next to him. A few people who were still in the corridor were quietly giggling, although some were shocked at what just happened. I heard several footsteps behind me and then a hand on my shoulder. I turned to look at who it was and saw that it was just Ryan, Pete and Patrick.

"Woah, what the hell?! Y/n that was amazing!" Pete quietly yelled, Patrick nodded.

"What's gotten into you? Or did you finally decide you wanted to be like us?" Ryan whisper yelled. He looked slightly angry but also impressed with what I did.

"Well, if he wasn't such an asshole about me getting beaten up then we wouldn't have a problem." I stated, completely ignoring his other question.

"Wait, what did he do?" Ry asked.

"It doesn't matter for now, I gotta head to maths, bye." I waved at the boys and jogged away to my lesson. Maths was the one lesson I had which wasn't with Ryan, Pete or Patric. But, Brendon was in this class. I decided to sit right at the back and kicked my feet up onto the chair next to me, that was until I felt someone tap my leg.

"Um, e-excuse me, may we sit here? These are kind of our seats, anyway." I looked up to see two boys, both had brown eyes. One with yellow hair, and the other brown.

"Sure." Was all I said as I moved my legs from off the chair. The two boys smiled as a thank you before sitting down, the boy with brown hair sat next to me. About 15 minutes into the lesson an angry looking Brendon stormed into the classroom and glared at me. "If looks could kill," I thought. "I'd definitely be dead."

"You're late, Urie." The teacher spoke.

"Yeah, I know." Brendon replied. He stopped glaring at me and took a seat at the front next to Mike.
