I took a deep breath before walking down the aisle. Our guests stood with smiles on their faces, family members with tears in their eyes as they watched me take slow steps towards the man waiting for me. Brendon stood with shaky hands, a grin spread widely across his face.

This was surreal, I would have never thought this moment would ever happen. I felt as though I was in a story, who would have known I would end up walking down the aisle about to marry my lover? Definitely not me, that's for sure.

As I finally stepped up next to Brendon, I noticed tears threatening to fall from his eyes and I smiled. He gently took my hands with a whisper of,

"You look beautiful."

After that the ceremony started, but everything was blurred out and white noise. All I could focus on was the man standing in front of me, holding my hands in his as words were said around us. The rest of the world was tuned out completely until we were able to said "I do."

The rings were placed on our fingers, and we were finally allowed to seal this off with a long desired kiss.

I had everything planned out for our wedding, how our perfect day would end, but not even tuning goes as planned. I awoke, gasping with tears flooding my face. The wedding really was surreal, for it was all a dream of the perfect day I had planned out.

There was no wedding, and there was no rings, nor wide grins, nor happy tears. Nothing.

The wedding had been cancelled, Brendon and I's relationship going through rough patches due to the little time we spend together. We had both became so caught up in our jobs that we've barely been able to see each other, so as a mutual agreement, we decided to call off the wedding until further notice.

I was sobbing by now, the dream having felt so real and so unimaginably perfect. I want that, more than anything. My cries must have woken up Brendon as he quickly shot up next to me, encasing me in his arms as I continued to cry from a moment so perfect, too perfect.

Brendon held me close to his chest and hummed, rocking me gently until my sons turned to just quiet tears. He pulled me away from him, taking my face in his hands so I'd look at him. This was one of the few nights we'd be able to spend together before he has to leave for tour, one of the few nights he'll be there to keep me calm from bad dreams.

"What happened, sweetie?" He whispered, stroking my cheek softly with his thumb.

"I-I dreamt of our wedding. I want that so badly Bren, so, so b-badly." I choked out, squeezing my eyes shut as another sob wrecked through me.

"Look at me," I hesitantly opened my eyes at his soft command, "it will happen one day baby, I promise, okay? But for now it can't, and it may not for a while, but I promise that one day you'll have your perfect wedding." He was frowning now, no frown deserved it's place upon that man's face.

No more words were shared, I only nodded in response as he placed a soft and short kiss to my lips before pulling out bodies down so we were laying down. I laid my head on his chest, his heartbeat and steady breathing like a lullaby as it managed to send me off into slumber.
