The second lecture wasn't as bad as the first one. First off, Erica didn't talk much about how I had to keep their identities a secret and that no one without access to that information can know about it. All she said was, " Don't tell anyone about us or I'll hunt you down and I will kill you." She didn't need to say anymore. I got the message.

Second, I got to learn more about the mission. It was both fascinating and worrying. Fascinating because it's not every day you get to hear about top secret mission that involves fighting bad guys and saving the world. Worrying because I knew that there was a pretty high chance that I could die on this mission.

" There has been five breaches in our security system over the past two months. Three of them were caused by undercover agents from SPYDER, an evil organization that the CIA has been hunting down for a few years now. They aren't a friendly organization. They will do whatever it takes to get what they want. Even if it means sacrificing many people." Erica said.

As she said this though, I spotted a little, tiny hint of emotion in her eyes. Sadness. It quickly disappeared as soon as I noticed it. It was like she was trying to hide it from everyone else. But why? I thought.

" The other two breaches were from undercover agents from another evil organization that we have yet to discover. During each breach, the agents would hack into our main computer and try to access whatever they can. Both organizations need something that we have in order to crack this code." She held up her phone and showed me a picture. It was a code all right. A very confusing one:

N= 19.4536(2)

It was a mixture of letters and numbers. But I didn't know what they stood for. Neither did any of the others. They all were confused like me. I sighed. I don't how I'm going to be any help to the mission. All I know is a confusing code that doesn't even make sense to me. And thinking about it was giving me a headache. Zoe noticed this.

" Don't worry. We feel the same way you do. We'll crack this code together. Soon." She said reassuringly. I nodded. It made me feel a little better.

Mike yawned. " I'm tired. Is this meeting over? I have a bed I have to get to." I was feeling sleepy again as well. So was everyone else. I glanced at my clock again. 10:25. It was way past my bedtime. Erica looked at her watch.

" I guess we can go now." She said coldly. She didn't look the slightest bit tired.

Mike was the first to obey. He said, " Good bye. Nice meeting you." And then, he jumped out of the window. Ben was next. Then Zoe. Then Levi. " I hope you feel better. Text me if you find anything." He said. Then he leapt out too.

Now it was just me and Erica. Erica picked up the window that was on the ground and stood on the window ledge. She paused before jumping out. She turned around and said, " Don't trust anyone Jacie. We are your only assets now. Anyone else is a liability. Including them." She pointed to the picture of me and my parents that was on my desk. It saddened me that I couldn't trust the people I loved. But I nodded anyway. " Ok." I said. Then, she hung onto the window ledge with one hand and replaced the window with the other bolting it into place. Then she jumped on to the ground with the rest of the team.

" Let's go."

The next day of school went by slow. We did English and Bible and Spelling. Now it's lunchtime. Everyone is in the cafeteria. I was heading towards the library again. Not because I wanted to check out a book, but because I needed to think. The library was the perfect place to think.
