I got a text from Jessie during lunch almost two weeks after Vee got attacked. Now that was all I could think about; I would try to focus on class but my mind would wander back to it, and how much pain he must've been going through while I was learning about complicated equations.
I instantly checked the text.
Jessie: Hes coming back. The infection in his neck disappeared after he got back the blood he needed and he has already gained ten pounds of the food he lost. He should be back Monday.
I hastily replied.
Me: Thank you so much Jessie.
I couldn't keep myself from smiling like an idiot the rest of the day. Neither could Summer or Micah after I told them.
