Chapter #2
Hye Su' POV:
"Hye Su, Hye Su" someone was calling my name whilst I could feel them shaking me.
"What" I said with a weak voice. "Get up!" halapoji yelled.
"2 more minute halapoji" he pulled by the arms and started shaking me back and forth.
"Please" I begged him starting to cry.
"No, your late for school again it's 9:00"
"What!" I screamed as I jumped out of my bed.
"Halapoji why didn't you wake me up" I asked carelessly
"Wake you up? I did, it's not my fault you sleep like a cow" he started hitting me with any object closest to him.
After brushing my teeth and combing out my hair I ran to the closet and put my uniform on that'd been dried clean by halamoni like always.
I walked down the stairs shoving my textbooks and other worksheets in my backpack.
"Anyeong" I bid halamoni and halapogi goodbye.
"Don't forget your packed lunch and here eat your breakfast on the way to school" she shoved an egg rolled omelette down my throat before I could hesitate.
I bowed once again then sprinted out the door.
======
I arrived in my second period class handing a late slip to the teacher.
"Late again Hye Su" sir asked me unsurprised.
"De" i replied bowing to him and the rest of the class. My class president looked disappointed.
"Open your textbook to page 149"sir said
Wow, the pictures were truly amazing. The image showed a beautiful scenery of the Mt Umyeonsan.
Wait that's here in Seoul, looks like I've just found a trip for this weekend.
I've always loved hiking and going on trips by myself. I mean who's there to ask, halapoji and halamoni are too old.
School ended and I speeded home like a racing car.
"Halapoji, halamoni Im home."I quickly ran up the stairs and took a quick shower.
I threw on my warm puffy orange jacket and black jeans then slipped on a white beanie and my pair of hiking boots.
I walked back down the stairs to the kitchen and shoved anything eatable into my backpack.
Food and water, check, camera, check, wallet and phone, check now I'm set to go.
Too bad I can't go with anyone, but who cares they'd just be a burden I said hesitantly.
"Halapoji, halamoni I'm going out for a while and I'll be back late so don't worry."
Halapoji's POV:
"Aish, this girl. She thinks she can just wake up late for school then go wonder around like a she has free time." I complained.
"Just let her have her own fun, she has no friends, besides us. Just think of it as a field trip before she turns 16 next week" halamoni said with no sign of worry.
"I guess your right, and she enjoys going on adventures on her own" I said with relief.
"Ahhh, she's growing up so fast. She's become mature" she said smiling
I agreed and smiled back
Hye Su' POV:
I waited at the bus stop and caught the Nambu express bus that stopped the nearest to Mt Umyeonsan, it was so hot I drunk a whole bottle of water in less than a minute.
I don't know why I wore long clothes I thought it was going to be freezing. Ugh, should have checked the whether.
There was a long line waiting for another bus to take them to the actual site.
Stuff waiting for a bus, I decided to walk up to the mountain happy at the time being the weather changed a bit and was just the way I liked it, a grey clear sky and cool breeze so there were no complaints.
This was an advantage as to why I liked doing things or going places on my own.
I followed the signs as it directed me straight to the tourist site exhausted but satisfied.
There were so many people there and mostly foreigners crowding the fence, I guess this place is pretty famous for tourist as well.
I tried squishing through the heavy crowd to find a better view. Finally I found a small space I could just fit in to and captured the view.
I compared the scenery to the photo on my phone, it's so unreal. Standing on the edge on the stairs scanning the horizon.
"Wahhh, it's so pretty" whispering to myself but caught peoples attention whilst giving back an awkward smile.
I took my camera out trying to get the best shots like a professional photographer to add to my photo album.
======
It got darker and almost about everyone started leaving.
I have to admit the darker it got the more beautiful the landscape looked.
This was just too beautiful to be left alone.
A loud growling noise came from my stomach so I took out a ham sandwich and bottle of water and ate.
"Ahhh all finished" I took out my phone to check the time.
"10 more minutes"
Laying down on the soft green grass and the moonlight beaming down on the river overlooking the city. Too bad the moon wasn't a full moon today.
I looked around to see that now I was definitely alone no one in sight.
I remember halamoni telling me, 'the time you feel lonely is the time you most need to be yourself.'
Gazing up at the moon and stars made me wonder into thought again to that same subject.
I know everyone at school including halapoji and halamoni think Im a tough girl, but inside Im really weak and lonely.
Only if I had one clue of to where my parents are or what they do for a living, questions started to build up without answers.
I guess this is why I don't have friends, as much as I don't like being alone, trusting others just lead to disappointment just like my parents........
