Kayla's PoV:
Jasper and I continued our small talk, and try as I might, I could not avoid the sneaky and cocky glances that he kept sending my way. Finally the game came to an end, with Sebastian coming in dead last, not to anyone's surprise. Once everyone made it to the side of the room, Mrs. Carter got everyone's attention.
"Now that you have your partners, we are going to give you a bit of time to get to know them a little better at lunch. You have the ability to put in a request for a certain pairing for the assembly, if you so choose, but if not, you will be paired based off of your application questionnaires. Now you may or may not be paired with the dominant you chose during this little get together. You can find the dining hall to the left, you will have one hour to enjoy your meal before we gather you for the assembly."
Jasper and I follow the crowd into the dining hall and stand in line. The menu that is on the walls has many different options, but the only thing that looks good is spaghetti. I can smell the sauce in the air, and I nervously look around at the pretty table settings in the hall. If I didn't know any better, I would assume that this was a restaurant, but I guess they are trying to just impress us on the first day. We got closer and closer to the counter, and more and more dominants were ordering for their submissives, who would willingly get a side salad as a main course?? I nervously looked at Jasper, trying to be okay with the fact that I will probably be eating that too.
"Hey, so I am gonna get the Strip steak. What do you think you want?" Jasper asks while he slowly puts his arm around my waist.
"Wait, so you're letting me pick what I want to eat? You're not just going to make me eat a salad??" I ask shocked and surprised.
"Of course, I am a daddy, not a master. Obviously you aren't my submissive yet, but even so, I have a responsibility to make sure that not only your needs, but your wants, are met too. You can eat what you want, within reason, so as long as you don't want a plate of candy for your meal, it's okay," He laughed as a smile grew on my face.
"Hehe, okay, well uh, I think the spaghetti smells good," I say as we start to walk up to the counter.
"Then spaghetti you shall have," Jasper jokes with me, and then looks at the lady behind the counter, "One strip stake, spaghetti, a coke, and uh.." his voice drags off while he looks at the drink options. I couldn't help myself, I know he would never choose it, and I just can't eat spaghetti without a glass of milk.
"A cup of milk, please?" The lady nods as Jasper looks down at me with a confusing look on his face. Before he can ask and question the brilliant pairing, I jump in, "Hey, don't knock it until you try it, it is an amazing pairing and I love it. I legit will not be able to eat it without milk." I defend my taste buds as we are handed our food. It is on one tray, so Jasper refuses to let me touch it.
"I've got this sweetheart, why don't you go get napkins and utensils, okay?" Jasper asks as he kisses my cheek. I blush and walk off to the area where they have all of that stuff, while he goes off to find our seats. Sebastian is already sitting with a group of people who decided not to pair up with their matches, getting to know everyone. He smiles encouragingly as I get everything. I turn around to bump into someone.
"Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, are you okay?" I look up, and it is Greg from the beginning of all this.
"Can you just watch where you're going? We wouldn't want something bad to happen to such an innocent creature such as yourself," Greg held onto my wrist that had the utensils in it. Sebastian stands up and comes over to me, draping his arm over my shoulder.
"Now that is no way to talk to an innocent Greg. I thought you would have learned that by now after the Cameron incident," he very calmly grabs forces his hand off of me, and luckily I am small enough to squirm out of this situation. As grateful as I am to Sebastian for helping me out of that, I was completely uncomfortable with all of that. I hurried over to the table that Jasper was sitting at and plopped down.
"I got them!" I breathed out as I took a sip of my milk, he laughed and took a sip of his soda.
"I see you got into a little bit of an altercation over there. I would have stepped in, but you looked like you just wanted to leave the situation. I take it you handled it well," he smiled and rubbed my wrist.
"Yeah, so what is the deal with Greg? Sebastian said something about a 'Cameron incident,' what is that all about?" Jasper rolls his eyes and looks over at Sebastian and Greg.
"Before Sasha came into the picture, Sebastian went after the same submissive, an innocent. To get a leg up, Greg tried to go too far too quickly to make them submit to him alone, but it drove them to leave the school and basically swear off the community. Ever since, the school has emphasized the free will of the submissive, but it is a very hush hush topic. I am shocked that Seb had the balls to bring it up." He began eating and paused until I grabbed my fork and began eating as well. The conversation slowly died out, while we ate the delicious food. I hope they have a gym class in this academy because if they don't I will be very fat by the end of this experience.
As we finish up our food, our conversation picks up again, and I started to get to know a side of Jasper I hadn't seen yet, someone relaxed, funny, and a complete dork at times. He was in the middle of one of his cheesy puns when Mrs. Carter walked through the doorway and we all quieted.
"Thank you, now, we have had several discussions, and some monitors have been appraising the connections being formed here, and I believe this year we are off to a great start. The matching ceremony will begin in 10 minutes in the auditorium. Please do not be late," Mrs. Carter turned around and walked back to where she came from as a nervous buzz seemed to set on the submissives in the room. Everyone picked up their dishes, returned them to the wait staff, and began heading towards the auditorium.
Here goes nothing, right?
