The Doctor walked through the halls as if he drew up the floor plans. The Mask has lost count of how many times he's almost lost the Doc because he didn't pay attention to him turning a hallway. It was starting to annoy him. "How the hell do you know where your even going?" He looked at the man next to him with his hands on his hips. The Doctor only let a slight hum escape his lungs. "I have been moved so many times. I know these halls like they are my patients. There is a moment when I feel the hallway I am walking has no longer become useful. And look for the one that does."

The Mask was unamused, to say the least. He could tell the Doctor knew he didn't understand what in the hell he just said to him. "I can't believe we are going off of your gut feelings. I oughta just go my own way!" The Mask huffed. The Doctor stopped.

"Very well then." Confused. Suddenly he was confused. He thought the Doc was talking to himself for a minute. But the Doctor continued. "I shall wait for you to wander far enough to the point that you can no longer follow me." The Mask whipped himself around at the man staring at him with dangerous eyes. He didn't mean it.

He could hear the anger in the Doctors voice, but he could see the hurt in his eyes much to clearly. And he felt it as well. "Run along now. You seem quite confident." The Doctor turned on his heel and started walking back down the way they came.

It took only a fraction of a second for the Doctor to hear the hurried footsteps behind him, and turned around. "What is it now?" When he finished his sentence, the Mask was as close to his face as he could get without the beak of his own mask touching the other. He stumbled slightly trying to back up as the man before him just about toppled over on him.

He was out of the way when the Mask fell, porcelain first onto the floor. Arms too weak now to catch him without breaking. An 'oomph!' was heard from the floor. There was silence as the Mask rolled over, a crack in the porcelain near his eye opening. When he sat up, he felt blessed. He could hear the Doctor laughing quietly by his side. It made his heart jump like a giddy child who just heard the music of an Ice Cream Truck.

He stood up with his back to the Doctor, who was currently trying his best to silence his snickering. The Mask was not about to let the Doc see the purple on his cheeks, and definitely not over the crack. He would only continue laughing. But in the back of his mind. A war was raging, he wished to hear more of the Doctors voice. But it came with the cost of humiliation.

"Can we just continue waking please?" He kept his back to the Doctor, who finally managed to shun himself out of laughing. "We? So you are going to keep your mouth shut from now on about my navigation?" There was a smug smile glued to his lips behind his mask. He stood with his hands behind him, as proper as always. Even when insulting the man in front of him. The Mask huffed, noticing the slight wrinkles on the edges of the golden eyes he loved oh so much. He huffed and motioned for the Doctor to lead the way. "Why thank you."

About an hour, maybe longer?

Neither of them knew, but both were becoming tired. Through they were of the same threat, even they knew that resting, let alone sleeping was dangerous in these halls. He could see the slight tired stumble in his companions footsteps, he wouldn't last much longer without sleep. It wasn't necessary, but damn did it help. Perhaps he could find another while his navigator slept, but he realized leaving the man who his heart beat for alone was a terrible idea, so he would have to find someone on the way.
