The Plan(s) {Betty Cooper} {Bughead}

Thursday in Riverdale

Riverdale Archie's POV

I woke up Thursday and checked my phone. Jug had texted me @ 3 in the morning, that was strange. When I opened the text it was a picture of the damn guy hugging MY Betty.

Jug wrote "What are we going to do?". He also left me a rambling voice mail around the same time that I couldn't understand.

"I told we should stop. She's... Shhhee What if she leaves? Man....what" and then it was just sounds and eventually he hung up. I assumed that he got drunk last night. I looked at the picture again and frowned. This guy is going to be a problem. He seemed too happy to be near Betty. For a minute, I started thinking some dark thoughts but I quickly shook my head. This wouldn't be a issue. This guy barely knows B and he lives in New York. Plus I know that B loves only me. I mean, how could she not?

I smile and called Jughead.

"What" he answered sounding awful.

"Dude don't stress. That guy had nothing on me and he barely knows Betty. It will be fine. Plus he doesn't even live here." I said.

"Dude stop yelling. What are you...Oh yeah... Well I hope so. Why are you calling me so early?" he mumbled back.

"Jug, it's almost noon. I have to go to football practice soon. Do you want to meet at Pop's tonight? Maybe spend the night after?" I asked.

"Sure. Just make it much later. 7? At Pop's?" He whispered.

"See you then. Remember, its just one more day. They'll be back tomorrow, how much can happen in a day?" I laughed and hung up.

I got ready and hurried to practice. It was gym day which means that we first work out in the gym, doing strength training.

As I was working on the leg machine, Reggie and Chuck came over to me. "Hey, Andrews! What was all that about at Pop's last night?" Chuck asked

"Yeah. Does Betty really think that no one wants to date her? I thought that you told her that I wanted to ask her to the spring fling last year and she said no." Reggie added.

"Wait, that's what he told me when I wanted to ask her to the winter formal." Moose piped in from the machine next to me. Chuck looked at me slyly.

"Alright, listen up. Who here has wanted to ask Betty out and Archie told you a reason you couldn't or told you that she didn't want to go out with you?" he yelled while all activity stopped to listen to him. All of a sudden almost everyone rose their hands and everyone turned to look at me.

"Listen, guys. I can explain." I said

"Oh, I think we understand. You blocked any of us from dating Betty for years. That's not cool, man." Reggie said. Just then the coach walked in and yelled at us to get back to work.

The rest of strength training passed slowly and quietly. The guys on my team kept shooting me glares, especially Reggie. I know that he's had a crush on Betty since elementary school but truly believed that she hated him since that's what I always told him. I told him (and a few others to be honest) that Betty was always nice to everyone and was too kind and shy to tell someone no and that she didn't like them.

After strength training we headed out to the field to run plays.

"You better watch your back" Chuck said as he pushed pass and hit my shoulder. The rest of practice was awful. I was constantly getting tackled, even by guys on the same team as I. This lasted for hours until the coach finally just made us run laps.

"I don't know what's wrong with you guys but now you can stay late and run laps" he said at the end which just made everyone madder at me. After practice, I quickly grabbed my gear, skipped the locker room and drove home as fast as possible.

After showering and changing, I realized that it was about time to meet Jug. I briefly wondered if I should just stay home to avoid the guys but decided that they couldn't still be mad at me. It was just Betty after all. It's not like any of them actually liked her or had a chance with her since I was around. I got caught up in a show and ended up leaving late, it was already 7 by the time I was walking towards the truck. Jug called me.

"I know I'm late. I'm leaving now" I sighed into the phone.

"No dude. Stop. This place is filled with guys pissed at you. Don't come here. I'll be right over." he said and hung up. Great, just great.

I went back into the house and slammed the door. A few minutes later I heard Jug's bike pull up. He quickly got off the bike and walked in when I opened the door.

"What happened?" I asked

"I could ask you the same thing! Toni, Fangs, Sweets and Kevin and I were just hanging out in Pop's for a while and I mentioned that you should be coming soon. Chuck and Moose overheard me and started saying that you were a POS and they wanted to kick your ass. They said that you kept them away from Betty and how low that was. I realized that they must have found out what we had done and booked it out of there. When I was leaving, I saw Reggie and Dilton talking in the corner and looking at me. I'm sure that they know that we both kept everyone away for Betts. What are we going to do? If she finds out, she'll never forgive us." Jug ranted at me.

"Calm down" I said. "it will be fine"

Just then both Jug's and my phoned dinged a text alert. We both pulled out our phones to check and saw the picture of Betty and that asshole hugging each other.

"What the HELL!" Jug exploded. I just shook my head. We ranted for a bit but figured that there wasn't much we could do. We just had to wait until she got home and pray that everyone would cool off an no one would tell her. We played video games the rest of the night to distract ourselves.

A little after midnight we started to get ready for bed. As I laid down, I scrolled through my social media and got an alert that someone named Peter had tagged B in a photo.

"Check this out" I said to Jug as he sat next to me to get a better look. I opened the picture and both of us were speechless for a minute. Then we looked at each other darkly.

"I'm going to end this guy" I said evilly as Jug fumed at the picture of a guy we didn't even know, hugging and kissing Betty on the cheek.

"Just wait until they get back here"
