The Party

Riverdale Betty's POV

After we got in the car, Jug turned on some music and we drove to V's without saying much. We pulled into the driveway around 8 like we planned. The party started at 9 and I wanted to help with some of the last minute set up at least since I wasn't here all day.

Something seemed off when we walked in. V, C and I decided the night before that the entertainment room and the dining room would be where most of the party would take place. We knew that it might spill into other rooms but we figured that we could at least try to keep it in those rooms. We walked through the kitchen and it had trays and bowls filled with snacks all ready to go. When we got to the dinning room, I saw that the table was gone and the chairs were pushed back to the walls of the room. There was a dj table set up in the corner and the rest of the room was clear to provide a dance floor area. The room had balloons hanging all over the ceiling and spinning lights. It looked great.

The entertainment room was similarly decorated and had some extra seating set up. The bar was fully stocked and ready to go. What was off was the fact that Arch, Sweets, and Peter were lounging on the couch watching a movie and no one else was any where to be seen. I figured with the party starting soon Kevin and V would be in peak party organization mode. The house was strangely quiet and I narrowed my eyes and looked at Jug. He looked at me a shrugged. He walked in front of the tv and over to where Arch was spread out. He pushed Arch's legs down and sat next to him. The rest of the guys mumbled at Jug and kept watching the movie.

"Hey, guys?" I said standing by the door. They all finally noticed me. Peter gave me a big smile and Arch and Sweets sat up straighter.

"Hey Betts!" Peter called.

"Where have you been?" Sweets asked

"Yeah. I thought that your shift ended at 3." Arch questioned. I smiled and shook my head.

"Where's everyone else?" I asked

"Well... They are upstairs.." Arch said chuckling.

"Oh, thanks!" and I turned to go up and Peter jumped up and in front of me.

"I don't think that you want to go up there" he said turning me back around while Sweets cracked up.

"OK. What's going on?" I said walking over to the couches. Arch groaned and paused the movie.

"Well... we were setting everything up and V said that we were almost done and that we should all go change. And.. well we've all been drinking most of the day so everyone was a little tipsy." he said

"Ok soooo...?" Jug prompted

"We all went upstairs and got changed but as I was leaving I ran into Toni who said she was going to help V and C in V's room with their make up and hair so I just came down here to wait." Peter said.

"After Fangs and I changed, Fangs said he was going go get Kevin to help him with his tie. Which was weird because he didn't have a tie on but I came down here to relax and drink." Sweets continued.

Arch then said "I figured that I had some extra time after I got ready since the girls had to do make up and whatever so I laid on the bed for a while. After a few minutes, I heard some strange noises. I went out in the hall and heard... some...things coming from V's room and Kevin's room so I ran down here and turned on a movie. I told the guys what I heard and we've been hiding out ever since." Sweets burst out laughing again and even Peter chuckled.

I looked at Jug, confused when he all of a sudden said "NO?!"

"Yep" Sweets said nodding. All of a sudden it dawned on me.
